Reliable Brush Unexpectedly Versatile
The Manicare Vented Hairbrush has proven itself as one of the most practical and unexpectedly versatile brushes we’ve used in years — both my wife and I now rely on it regularly despite having very different hair types. She has thick, wavy hair down to her waist that tends to tangle easily, while I have shoulder-length straight hair that needs frequent brushing to stay presentable, especially after the gym or while working at a desk all day. This brush works equally well for both of us, which is rare — many brushes either lack the grip for thicker hair or are too harsh on finer strands. The key feature is the vented design, which allows air to pass through during blow-drying and helps speed up drying time noticeably. On my wife’s dense hair, it cuts drying time by a good 15–20%, especially when she dries in sections. On my shorter hair, it means I can quickly freshen up after a shower or pre-style with wax or clay without waiting for damp roots to dry naturally. It distributes heat without creating hotspots or frizz, and the flexible bristles, with their ball tips, are gentle even when used on wet or chemically treated hair. It’s become our go-to tool after applying leave-in conditioners and detangling sprays, especially post-shower. It works incredibly well for brushing hair after swimming, when the hair is wet and slightly rough from chlorine. It glides through even saltwater-dried hair after the beach, making it a solid travel brush. We also use it after hair oiling routines — brushing from root to tip helps distribute the oil more evenly without causing breakage. It’s also excellent for brushing in products like heat protectants before straightening or curling, or for prepping the hair with mousse before diffusing waves. My wife uses it to separate her hair into sections before braiding, especially when styling for sleep or when prepping for a next-day blowout. It’s also great for managing her hair before tying it up in a claw clip or bun — it doesn’t cause static or rough up the cuticle. I often use it before and after applying dry shampoo; it helps lift the roots and remove powder residue while leaving a natural shape. It’s equally useful for quick styling when you’re out and need to tidy up hair flattened by a hat or hood. We’ve also used it when brushing out curls or waves after styling — it loosens them just enough to give a natural, undone look without completely destroying shape. It works well on wigs, hairpieces and synthetic ponytails, as it doesn’t snag the fibres. On freshly dyed hair, it brushes gently enough to avoid scalp irritation, and we’ve even used it for brushing the edges of facial hair and beards when other brushes are too harsh. I’ve used it after applying styling powder or fibre products, and it blends them evenly into the roots without the streaky effect you sometimes get with combs. In our bathroom, it’s become the brush we leave by the mirror because we both reach for it constantly — whether we’re prepping for work, brushing after a shower, or doing a quick evening tidy-up before heading out. The compact size also makes it ideal for travel; we keep one in our suitcase and another in the car. We clean it weekly with warm water and a drop of clarifying shampoo — the vents and nylon bristles dry quickly and don’t trap product residue like some cushioned brushes. Compared to other brushes we’ve owned (including more expensive salon options), this one is astonishingly reliable. It hasn’t lost a single bristle, hasn’t warped, and it still looks nearly new after months of daily use. It isn’t the brush you’d use to build volume or for hardcore backcombing, but for detangling, everyday maintenance, product prep, and blow-drying — both wet and dry — it’s brilliant. Whether you’ve got long, thick hair or shorter, finer strands, the Manicare Vented Hairbrush just quietly works.

Worth the money
I'm absolutely thrilled with this product! From the moment I started using it, I noticed a significant improvement. The quality is outstanding, and it's clear that a lot of thought and care went into its design. It's incredibly user-friendly, and I was able to get the hang of it right away. What really sets it apart is its effectiveness – it does exactly what it promises, and then some! I've already recommended it to all my friends, and they love it too. If you're on the fence, don't hesitate – you won't be disappointed!

Does its job well
Nothing special does it? Job quality is good and built well, but it’s just a general hairbrush.

Good enough for every day, not so good for curling and pulling through
So, I'd say that you get what you pay for! For the price, this is exactly what you'd expect. So really, I can't grumble. But I did end up (on the recommendation of my hairdresser) paying 18 quid for another, and the difference was kind of staggering. I needed this for blow drying my daughter's complex hair style, and though this worked, wrapping hair around it, I found it sticked, and didn't easily pull through. This was easy with the better brush. But I'm not really comparing like with like. Just saying that if you need this for anything slightly more complicated, get a better brush. But for the price, can't knock this really. Fairly well made, and I still use it on my other daughter's hair (finer and shorter hair).
