Nice safe but...
The dimensions were a little deceiving being outside vrs. Inside.Much too small for what we need it for.Going to return it

Did not come with all parts
When I got the product it looked nice but when I was trying to open it it said to charge it with the battery charger it came with. I went through all of the bags and the box and I couldn’t find it. I am now not able to us the product.

A nice, solid place to keep your stuff out of the wrong hands
I originally got this safe thinking I would attach it to my nightstand and have it close to hand while I slept. When it arrived, and I started thinking about how it would actually be attached, I decided that probably wouldn't work. The bottom of the nightstand drawer was too thin to be a good surface, and if I used the included screws to attach the safe to the top of the nightstand, they would be so long they would go through the top and interfere with the use of the drawer. Those screws are heavy duty items, like one would expect to drive into the studs of the wall for a secure hold. But wall studs are on 16" centers, typically. The holes in the back of the safe are much closer together than that. There are also heavy-duty drywall anchors included, but I simply don't trust drywall to stay put if a burglar tried to rip the safe off the wall.Ultimately, I ended up mounting this to the lower deck of the big workbench I use as my desk. That's a 2' x 4' sheet of 1/2" plywood. I attached it with M8 bolts, which required me to ream out the holes a little bit with a rotary tool. So I get to hold on to the beefy bolts and anchors that came with this for my next improvisational installation.I had a few problems getting the initial codes and fingerprints entered, but those problems were all the result of skimming when I should have been reading. Everything worked the way it was supposed to work once I followed the actual directions instead of the fake directions in my head. One thing I really like about this safe is that it comes with an auxiliary battery pack that you can plug into the front of the door if the batteries inside go dead. I had a big safe for my files that lacked this feature, and there was a lot of anxiety associated with keeping fresh batteries in there. Because the battery pack doesn't OPEN the safe (it just POWERS it, so you can enter your code or biometrics), you can leave it near the safe without having to hide it like you would do with the spare keys.I definitely had a few issues getting it situated, but I don't think those issues came from any design or construction features that are unique to this safe. It's just that the combination of needing a secure place to mount the thing, AND one that's not too obtrusive, AND one that you can get to easily to open/close, AND won't be easily ripped out of the mounting surface by burglars--well, it just isn't easy, is all.I only really had one minor gripe: the crackle finish of the paint wasn't completely consistent. On the inside, there is a spot where the paint seems to have bubbled up a little rather than having the crackle appearance. It will never be seen, since I covered it up with the grey felt liner included with the safe, but it's there. It isn't deluxe, but everything works and the construction is very robust.

This is great, works well. However the battery pack didn't come with it and I can't contact seller.

Steel safe with four way opening ability
I like the SECUSTAR BIOMETRIC SAFE as it has a key lock backup for access. The lock keyhole is hidden under a cover plate that is flush to the front plate. The steel safe is provided with four pre-drilled holes in the rear to mount the safe securely. Four long bolts are provided for the purpose. The batteries to power the Biometric controls are included. Additionally a battery box with a cable come with the unit for emergency opening. A heavy felt pad that fits inside covers the bolt heads and provides a soft area for items. To remove the cover plate over the keyhole required the edge of a knife with minimal pressure. It was too tight for lifting with a fingernail. Turning the key counterclockwise and the handle clock wise opens the safe. After the batteries are installed for the controls it also provided a light when the safe is first opened. The light stays on for about a minute. To reset the code you have a choice of number 1 through 4 but up to 10 digits. The default code from the factory is entered first and then the new code is entered two times for it to be changed. The sequence when started must be continuous or it will time out or not register the new code. With the new code installed it worked as well as with the factory default code....no issues. To add the fingerprint is done after a Reset. First person went through the process and the print was accepted. The safe opened. The second person tried several times with two fingers on one hand. Code showed as accepted but would not open safe. Hands washed, same result with right hand. Changed to left hand and first finger tried worked fine...no issue. We have tried several times and no issues with either person. Very satisfied. One nice feature is the top stays partially open until physically pushed down to close. As the top is heavy this eliminates the possibility of a caught finger. Not worth the effort
Extremely hard to program. Only can utilize one access point at a time .if you use the key it voids out the keypad and fingerprint . Same goes for utilizing the kee pad or fingerprint you can't program both a keycode and fingerprint. You can only use one or the other.

Fast Biometrics, but not the strongest safe.
The Secustar medium steel lock box safe is a light weight security safe good for slowing down quick con artists but not stopping a determined villain. It takes four AA batteries to enable the locking mechanism. It has a four-button combination that can easily be reset to any combination from one to eight digits in length. It also has a pretty good finger print recognition pad that can save up to sixty finger prints and works at any angle (probably its best feature). It can also be opened using a key (key hole hidden behind the plastic "v" on the front) or a separate plug-in power block (if the batteries die). A 2-sheet instruction manual comes with the safe that is pretty straight forward and easy to understand. The safe also comes with hefty bolts to either wall or floor mount it. It is not water or fire proof. The combination can be easily reset and a separate instruction sheet created so that the safe can be used for guest safe keeping. I would not recommend it for long term storage of valuables or important papers but it should be adequate to keep children away from items (guns, drugs, etc) and short term guest storage.
