Compustar RFX-2WT12-SS 3-Mile 2-Way LCD RF Remote + DR-X1 LTE Drone Mobile

I had this professionally installed into my 2018 Silverado. The remote start seems to be working fine but the added feature of "Drone Mobile" is a huge disappointment. Don't know if it's the app or the the feature on the remote start itself. Keys locked in vehicle? No problem use the mobile app to unlock the doors. NOPE. Get an ERROR message, The device does not respond. Please check if the device is online. I was standing next to the vehicle texting somebody how bad this is working. It worked great in a big city with perfect cell reception. Seems anything less that absolute perfect reception and forget about using it.When I finally get into my vehicle not with this app / auto start feature I get to where I have great reception. I look at the app and it says it's 103 degrees in my truck. It's winter in Alaska and I rolled the windows down and was driving. I'm freezing to see if the temp on the app drops. It did. all the way down to 102.I'm just not that impressed with this system / Drone mobile feature. The first time i need it. It's a complete failure. Loved my old Compustar system in my old truck. Of course they don't make it anymore. It was a much better / useful auto start than this one. This has no clock so there is no timer. My old compustar I could set a time for the vehicle to auto start. Not even a possibility on the this system. I have zero faith in the Drone mobile feature now so, I paid more (for this auto start) and it's nowhere near as useful as the 10 year old compustar auto start I had in my old truck. Very disappointing.

Professional install on a 2019 Ram Promaster 2500. Expect issues if you're doing the same. Had to add an additional analog glass break sensor as the integrated one' range is built for a small car. Yes, there are quirks with Drone (push notifications showing up late etc) and I don't imagine it'll ever actually come in handy unless someone manages to steal the car. But my main reason for 3-stars is because the claimed range of 3 miles is far from accurate. I've gotten a mile, maybe 1 1/2, if in direct line of site. In the real world with trees and buildings, even when outdoors, expect 1/4 to 1/2 mile max. GREAT customer support from Firstech though, love that part.
