Great Story of ABBA
I bought this for my wife and she loves it. She being a Mama Mia fan first, then introduced to its inspiration, this DVD helps account for the history behind the popularity. It is our opinion that we enjoy this, and learn a lot of the bands history (the good and the bad). There is a lot of information packed into it including the personal interviews and they play clips from their music from the very beginning. It is the same documentary we saw on TV in 2004 or 2005, remembered it, and eventually ordered this DVD.

Excellent DVD!
There is nothing about this DVD to dislike. This is one of the recommended DVD"s on ABBA around. If you love ABBA this is one to get.

Great, but mediocre packaging
All an ABBA fan expects: that is what is contained in this DVD. The only thing I have to complain about is the packaging: I did feel like this wasn't an official ABBA release because of the mediocre (that means reasonable, not bad) DVD disc, cover and plastic case. Also, the production in the menus left a bit to be desired. Still, a vey enjoyable film for fans.

abba,s :super troopers:
i thought the dvd would be abba in concert singing all their songs. instead it was a history of how the group got together and disbanded.there were excerpts of the band with parts of numerous songs but it wasnt what i wanted. there should be more information on the contents of the dvd,s. i hope this message will help others make a decision to buy or not to buy..

A must have for any true ABBA fan!
I've been a fan of ABBA since the 70's. I grew up with their music.I rediscovered them in 2006 and enjoy their happy and simple music as much now, as I did over 30 years ago. More than a sentimental attachment, ABBA was truly a great and pioneering pop music group. They suffered the misfortune of existing during the early 70's to early 80's, when rock music was more prevalent.I own another ABBA documentary DVD which goes from their beginnings to 1999. This one continues up to 2004, for the five year anniversary of the hit musical "Mama Mia". There's more coverage of live ABBA performances in this documentary. It's a worthy addition to the collection of any true ABBA fan. To me, ABBA is the greatest pop music group ever.

but I REALLY like the close harmony that almost ALL ABBA CD's have ...
You know, I may be old school, but I REALLY like the close harmony that almost ALL ABBA CD's have in common. I never cease to be amazed at the techniques that she works with. I understand that most of the harmony is ABBA harmonizing with herself. Sure could use her in out barbershop group!! :o)

another abba dvd
Here is another ABBA dvd. Very nice indeed. However I own by now 10 ABBA dvds and therefore I see a lot of duplications in their respective scenes. It is pretty hard to find new ABBA material on dvds.......
