I used the trap to catch two mountain beavers that were beginning to encroach on my garden. There is a technique to doing that. But once learned, this trap works very well. Its one shortcoming is that the heavy wires (or rods) running to the doors are somewhat under engineered. Thus a trapped mountain beaver can bend these. So a bit of tinkering is then needed before the trap can be used again. Nevertheless, this is a well designed trap -- two mountain beavers displaced to their new home in two nights, very efficient.
