The Big Book of Questions and Answers: A Family Devotional Guide to the Christian Faith

Just what I’ve been looking for!
With this being from Sinclair Ferguson, I had high hopes, and have not been disappointed! It’s so hard to find a family devotional that all 4 of my kids (ages 0-6) can understand and be involved in, while not being too simplistic and shallow, like most kids devotional. My eldest is a deep thinker already and this has enough meat for her but simple enough concepts for my 2 and 4 year olds to understand. It’s also laid out perfectly for my husband to take us through. It’s truly an answer to prayer since leading family worship felt a daunting task for my husband, but this lays his task out clearly, so he’s happy to do it now. I love that it has you spent some good time straight from the word- like a whole chapter instead of just a verse, and also has an activity for the kids, like drawing a self portrait. The kids beg us to do it every night, so it’s really been awesome all around!

Great for Communicants Class material
I was looking for something to use with grade schoolers as they prepare to take communion in the church (Presbyterian). This material is perfect for those in grade school in terms of content and accessibility. I have the parents lead the kids through it and then meet with the parent(s) and child weekly and review what they learned. Been using this for 3-4 years now and haven't found anything better. yet!

Amazing tool to lead little ones to understand who God is!
It’s based on the shorter Westminster Catechism. Excellent tool in discipline little ones.

Excellent, but expensive.
These books are excellent. Solid teaching. Just a little on the expensive side.

Excellent Book
Big Book of Questions and Answers about the Christian Faith is an excellent devotional to share with your children. The truth and theology of knowing God is soundly presented by Dr. Sinclair Ferguson to help parents teach their children a sure way.

Great Quality and Excellent Customer Support!
The Book is great for interactive Family Devotionals (but would not be the best pick for just a normal read - as it does not have a big chunk of content for each section/topic), has a clear structure and interesting/helpful topics!

A bit disappointed after reading the good reviews and I love Sinclair's books for adults
I'll start by saying that I love listening to Sinclair teach the Word. I've heard him in person at a Desiring God conference and I've listened to his sermons and Things Unseen podcast. Therefore, I expected to love this children's book but I really haven't. The illustrations are cartoonish and very repetitive, but they are not the reason I bought the book so no big deal there. The questions and answers are the core content of the book and what I find a bit disappointing. They don't typically match the answers given in historic Christian catechism questions. I'm guessing the author was trying to simplify for kids, but in my opinion, they are less simple and understandable than the Christian catechism answers that we've already been teaching our 4 year old. Example: Question 8: What was the world like after God made it? Answer: "God took time to make the world and filled it with beautiful things." Why the need to mention time? That just makes for a long, hard to remember answer. Why not use Genesis's description: It was very good. Or it was very good and beautiful.
