Youth Astronaut Helmets

yes, it IS flimsy and the cool stickers are just that stickers, even starting to peel a bit. But it's exactly what I needed. A cheap astronaut helmet for the astronaut suit I already had for my son. Will work great for Halloween, and play thereafter (I'm putting it up until Halloween so it doesn't break before then) The visor works, and there is a vent for breathing if the visor is down, although it still fits up... I think it's over priced but it's the best I've found. It is for Children, yes it's a bit loose/big but I plan to put it on over a hat, since Halloween tends to be cold around here. So it's perfect for me. Plus, my son thinks it's awesome lol Pics included UPDATE: I'm adding more pics, the helmet looked great with the costume but didn't stay straight on his head, so he ended up taking it off rather quickly during trick or treating (even with a hat under), Granted, he's 2 years old. But the DIY Jet Pack got more compliments... And that thing was just 2 empty 2 liter bottles, duct tape, spray paint, and felt, so.... Regardless he does like to play with the helmet. So it maintains 5 stars, but I do think it's overpriced.

Great for small children and even a one year old. Well made, good looking, and easy for a toddler to put on and take off. Super cute for a little astronaut in the making. Extremely pleased overall with this space helmet.

My son loves this thing! Yes it's cheap and flimsy but it was inexpensive to buy and hasn't diminished any enjoyment. The visor moves smoothly and stays where the child positions it. It's moderately durable, lightweight, and fun. Drawbacks are that there's no chin strap so when my son plays it sometimes falls off his head... He usually holds it on his head when he runs but forgets when he's jumping around during pretend rocket ship launches. The shell is like a super thick soda bottle with a foam pad at the top for comfort. There's a foam strip at the bottom lip/edge that has already ripped after aggressive play... The mic is just a sticker. Overall, about what is expected for the price paid...

This was a gift for my 6 year old daughter who, at the moment, is space obsessed. She has the melissa and doug space suit but the helmet that came with it is flimsy and doesn't really look like a helmet- so this helmet was perfect to complete her ensemble! It fits her perfectly with a little room. My 9 year old daughter can wear this helmet but just goofing off- it barely fits her! We love all the stickers that come on the helmet to make it look more authentic! Great purchase if you have a little one who wants to be an astronaut when they grow up!

My 3 yr old loves this helmet! He has lots of costumes, but this bucket shape is SO EASY for him to slip on and off. Although not a perfect fit, he can even put it on me and his baby sister when he's feeling generous. He's not even a huge space fan (more of a dino-guy) but the ease of use makes it his most worn piece. It really made me appreciate costumes he can put on all by himself, very thoughtfully designed.

It's a nice looking helmet, but it's a little too big. My son just turned 6 & this was way too big for him. It doesn't have enough padding in it to keep it from falling over on his head. The face shield is a little difficult for him to flip open while he's wearing it, but if he keeps it down it gets fogged up from his breath. It's fine for playing with, but you need to stuff something in there to make it fit better if you want it to stay on snug.

TL;DR: It's a great value and the kids love it. Despite showing wear after four months, it's very functional and a great cost-effective costume piece. This was a great value for something the kids really love, and I have to say my little ones look adorable in it! The size is appropriate for older kids but even my 18-month old walked around in it and loved it. It was really for my three year old and five year old, though; it was great for them and would have fit a kid much older. The decals are a great way to keep the product cost low while adding some authenticity to it for the kids, but the visor sliding up and down is the icing on the cake. As far as durability, it's gone through some pretty heavy use over the last 4 months and it is showing. Some of the foam around the neck hole has worn away, and the microphone decal on the visor has come off. Still I give it 5 stars because of the impact it had when it was first opened, and because despite showing wear, it's still very functional.

My 2 year old is a huge fan of space things or blasting off to space, so I ordered this for Christmas and it arrived yesterday. I got a chance to inspect it prior to wrapping it, and the thing is simply awesome. Very light weight so small kids won't have problems pickup and wearing it. Very flexible too, so it wont break if a child falls/steps on it or what not (Not 100% indestructible, but very tot friendly). The adjustable yellow tented visor and mic is too cute and work with ease and the foam rim around the neck adds protection while wearing it. Very happy with this purchase.
