Charbroil Universal 2" Temperature Gauge - 7484426P06

This thermostat works as advertised. However, if you don't have a mounting bracket and you want to mount it directly to the grill like I did. Then you will need to make sure you have these additional accessories. 1. 1/2" drill bit so the thermostat fits all the way down to the metal of the grill. 2. A couple of washers that are as big around as the spacer that's on the backside of the thermostat. I installed this on a Char-Broil 3 burner Classic Grill. It did not come with a thermostat so I installed one. They are also called "American Gourmet". If you unscrew the wing nut from the thermostat you will see a round piece of metal that's about 3/8" around and approx 1/4" thick. The hole you drill in the grill needs to be 1/2" so that it sits all the way flush. Then you need to add your two spacers and those spacers also need to be 1/2" on the inside so it fits around that metal spacer on the thermostat. As long as you do that it will work perfectly and fit perfectly.

Accurate temperature, easy to install, and easy to read

Claims it’s compatible, yes it reads temp, OEM temp gauge has a notch/flat spot cut into collar that fits into the chrome bezel on grill lid, this one is not that way but it will be, hacksaws work wonders. Can read the degrees very well, will see how many seasons this lasts, it may even outlast the grill as it’s 6 years old and just got new guts (burners) see photo of OEM gauge.

Simple to install and works flawlessly. Was a little smaller than the original guage for my grill, but dropped in and had no problems. Some adjustments may need to be made to the hole for it depending in the grill. Seems to be good quality!

This is a great temperature gauge my other gauge had started to malfunction and I had a catering job to do over the 4th of July weekend this gauge did the job of a bigger professional gauge works as advertised

Not completely universal. It is possibly the age of my grill, but it is made by charboil for the grill I have which is a charbroil grill.

GOOD

It is a crap shoot what you will get. Does not fit my Charbroil Grill. his has a round seat where the OEM has a D shape seat. I do not have the tools to drill out the bevel handy and nor should I need them. The package does cardboard it is attached to does not say Charbroil. Others posted photos that do say it. Also, the front of he gauge does to look as pictured and looks like a generic brand. The part numbers also seem to range on what you get from the photos other users have posted even though other numbers on the packaging match up. Very disappointed. This is the second thermostat I purchased. The first one was a aftermarket but had the OEM number claiming it was an exact fit. But had a hex shape seat. Hence I went with the charbroil brand this time. Why is this proving difficult to get the proper thermostat?

It works well. It was a bit smaller than expected but I was able to make it work.
