Bust A Cap Glass Breaking Caps

When I first bought this I was unsure if it would fit in the newest model in the SL series and it does. Great product. The YouTube videos also give tons of insight of the difference of with or without a bust a cap.

Looks cool, feels nice, just waiting to use it still.

I've only had to bust a window out a few times in my life, but every time it was something that needed to happen NOW. If you don't carry a spring loaded center punch, even a blunt hammer can bounce off a window. You need something pointy and HARD - this fits.There's a pointed steel insert in the aluminum tailcap. This product is for the 20X series (old model) flashlight with aluminum body. It got here very fast and first installation gave me my only problem.The flashlight wouldn't light up.Why?Because the body of the flashlight is used as a conductor - the new tailcap was totally painted (anodized?) and needed to be scraped with a steel wire brush to get the paint off of the threads to complete the circuit - then it worked like magic.

I own two of these on two different flashlights. These work as they should and keeps your hands away from the glass.

Nicely machined, quality product. Fits perfectly. This is my second one.

I bought the Bust-A-Cap as an addition to one of my Surefire flashlights. It did not fit properly on any of the 4 Surefire flashlights I have: A G2, A G2Z, a Z2, and 6P. The Bust-A-Cap did NOT fit any of them. The threads were not machined properly, preventing the unit from screwing down enough to seat against the glass, leaving the glass loose and rattling. Great idea. Poor Execution.

I purchased this for my Streamlight SL20 led that I was converting to a SL20x with tera-lux led upgrade. The problem is that the SL20 led has a reverse spring system for the battery that is connected to the switch. This cap will not allow the battery to contact the tail cap without adding a tail cap spring. Most other online vendors include the spring, Amazon does not. Great product, just keep in mind for Streamlight you may have to purchase and use the tail cap spring if your model did not come with one originally.

If you carry this in your sap pocket, don't be surprised when you eventually rip through the pocket. Other than that, it works and fits well.

So I haven't had to use this in the intended function yet, but I'm confident it will work when needed. Easy install with the help of an o-ring between the glass lens and the bezel. Be sure to stop by the hardware store to pick one up, or your lens will rattle.
