Brought a 20 year old microwave back to life. The old magnetron still looked and tested good but I replaced it on a hunch. Would have cost hundreds of dollars to replace the entire microwave.Relatively simple to get inside the microwave and replace the part, just be aware that the high voltage capacitor connected to the magnetron can still retain power even after the microwave is unplugged. Look up how to safely discharge the capacitor with a pair of insulated pliers first.

For $45, saved me from having to purchase a new Microwave. A replacement would cost $400 so you do the math. Added bonus, microwave seems to have more power. Things cook and heat a little quicker. Tearing apart a microwave to get to the magnetron can be a pain, but if you are mechanically inclined, not a difficult task. Well worth the money.
