Easy to install
Installed w/o problems because of the quick connect feature. More noisy than expected. Seems to do a good job though haven't tried it yet with any tough material.

MUCH better than the Insinkerator it replaced!
I am very pleasantly surprised by this device. Installation is a breeze BUT the instructions leave to be desired a bit. To me, it was not clear at all that this unit doesn't have any kind of switch or on/off function. If you plug it in (or hardwire it) it is just ON period. So you need to install a switch (or connecting to the existing one if you have one already).Besides that, we love it. Much quieter and efficient than the Insinkerator it replaced (old unit was 3/4 HP as well). The old model was constantly breaking down and in need of ingenious fixes to keep going.Eight year in house warranty is the best warranty. Hopefully the company puts is money where its mouth is when it comes to service.

Disposal is great. My kitchen plumbing was awful.
Great disposal so far, everything disappears like it's supposed to, and it's quieter than the old GE that came out. The actual installation process was easy and worked the way it said in the instructions. And then the other shoe fell...Getting the drain pipes under the sink so I could get the old disposal out and install the new one was a nightmare. Apparently, the sink was installed, the original disposal was hung on it, and then all the drain pipes were put in--and glued together. There were zero places to take it apart.and zero sections of plain pipe long enough it could be cut and a coupling put on. Half an inch of exposed pipe isn't long enough. Regardless of the moral implications, it is together, it is working, it drains properly, it doesn't leak, it probably won't ever leak, and it's doing well. In 10-15 years, if somebody has to install a new disposer, it will be easy to get this one out and get the new one in.This comes with a 3-wire cord to plug into a receptacle. I used to think wiring it directly to power was more "grown-up" or something. It isn't. Having the plug and receptacle gives you what the electrical code calls a "local disconnect." Like your toaster and your television set, if something electrically bad happens, you can unplug it and it's completely dead. If you're handy enough to wire the disposal in directly, you're probably handy enough to use the wires connected to the house to install a receptacle.
