Versatile and Gluten-Free Pantry Staple
Vinh Thuan Rice Starch has become a go-to ingredient in my kitchen. It’s perfect for making traditional Vietnamese dishes like steamed rice cakes and banana cakes, providing a light and fluffy texture. Being gluten-free, it’s also a great alternative for those with dietary restrictions. The 14.1 oz bag is a convenient size, ensuring freshness without taking up too much space in the pantry. Beyond cooking, I’ve found this rice starch to be useful in DIY beauty recipes, such as homemade face powders and dry shampoos. Its fine texture makes it suitable for these applications, although some may find it slightly gritty. Overall, it’s a versatile product that serves multiple purposes, making it a valuable addition to both the kitchen and personal care routines. It is worth the cost!

Great for dry shampoo great for a dry shampoo
Bought this since rice starch was the main ingredient in my dry shampoo. It’s worked great and is much cheaper than the spray dry shampoo.

💋👀Face and🦶🙌 Body Powder
Wife says: I make my own face powder or parfumed body powder. This rice starch is finely ground, but does have small grit. It is a perfect base or addition to body powder formulas. Works very well to set concealer or eye makeup. A little goes a long way when using over makeup. 💗I would not suggest the "baking" technique, especially for mature women with dry skin. 💗After applying rice starch lightly to set foundation, ⭐use your clean hands or a clean brush to remove excess powder. ⭐I use freshly washed and dried (slightly damp) hands, to blot up excess powder from my face after removing excess with a large soft brush. ⭐ With fine setting powders, you should pay extra attention that excess is removed. ⭐ For lighter shades of skin it is translucent IF YOU use a small amount. Which is all you need for all day smear free eye makeup.

A solid alternative to dry shampoo!!!
While this rice flour may be advertised as a food product, it works well as a dry shampoo. I transitioned from cornstarch to rice flour, and I would recommend it as an alternative. I enjoy how the texture is lighter, which reduces the white cast commonly associated with cornstarch. Overall, this is a good product! My only issues are the slightly gritty texture (as if it wasn’t finely ground) and the faint odor.

Perfect for Crispy Baked Tofu Snacks..AND for my hair/skin!
Tickled that it helps the garlic sauce, tamari & coco nectar bind to small tofu cubes & adds more crunch to these delicious air-fried treats that I make frequently for snacks, salads, miso soups,…. But that I can also lightly coat my fingertips & rub it into the scalp of my dark brown hair and then brush it out for a perfect dry shampoo with lift..AND then use it with a powder puff as an absorbent body powder (that over time picks up the nice scent of my anti-perspirant)…well, its a real home run!

Great substitute for dry shampoo
I use this for when I don't have time to wash me hair. If I don't wash my hair everyday it's gets oily by the time I wake up again. I sprinkle a little on my brush and comb it through. It works better than dry shampoo and it's cheaper because this bag will last a long time. Plus it doesn't leave streaks or specs in my hair like dry shampoo does.

Not what it is
This is not rice starch. It's rice flour. There is conflicting information on the package. The back says flour and the front says starch.
