This is a nice, simple stereo cabinet. Made of MDF with a vinyl laminate finish with lightly embossed wood grain. Looks good under the big screen TV. Two shelves are adjustable which was good because my receiver is about 7 inches tall and it needs some more space for cooling. The doors swing quietly on a plastic bushing and the magnet latch is strong and works smooth. It does not sway side to side easily when pushed, but it does give a bit with twisting motion like trying to walk it out from a wall and it's fully loaded with equipment. I suggest getting some 1 inch wheels for the bottom. Makes moving it easy for connection changes and cleaning the dust out from behind. There is enough space to put a record player on the second shelf and remove the lower shelf to store albums upright.It is easy to assemble. Wife and me put it together in about 30 minutes. Most of the time was spent identifying the pieces and studying the instructions. It really helps to have someone hold some pieces in place while you tighten the screws but it can be done by yourself. I suggest you go through the entire picture instruction booklet beforehand to ensure that pieces are being assembled in the right locations and directions. The parts are labeled with a stamp on the edges. It is very hard to read and most are not clear. So study the pictures because they clearly show all the holes which helps with orientation and parts identification.All that is needed to assemble is a large (#2) Phillips screwdriver and a hammer. I suggest using wood glue on the dowels because it helps prevent the cabinet from working apart. The very bottom front has a "skirt" about 3 inches high. It has bare wood edges all around so it can have glue applied and it will be a wood to wood join that will help make the cabinet more rigid.All in all it is a decent cabinet that came with all the parts and hardware well packed in a heavy duty box. The hardware comes in a small 5x5x1" white box that looks like the rest of the Styrofoam packing so be careful not to toss it out with the packing. No scratches, nicks or dents even though the box looked rough on the outside. I thought the price was a bit high but I am satisfied with this purchase.BTW, I added these wheels. They do not leave marks on hardwood floors. Soft rubber wheels. I have to say it was not bad putting it together. The instructions were good but I wish they would have put the letters of the pieces on a sticker instead of on the side of the wood because some of the lettering was hard to read. Other than that it went together pretty nicely. I will buy from them again

I only kept this item because it came the closest to what I needed I could find. Otherwise it's a "made in China" piece of junk. All paperboard that peels off the top layer with just a touch. The entire cabinet depends on the cardboard-like backing tacked on for it's entire support. I had to remove it due to the unit being designed too shallow so I had to remove a section for one of my components because it didn't fit in the depth. I soon discovered that section supported the entire thing. I had to cut up pieces to reinforce the cabinet and leave a section open for the stereo component I was trying to place in it. I wouldn't have minded as much except $200 for this shabby thing isn't really worth it. Sadly disappointed. Whatever happened to building with quality. I honestly wouldn't recommend this to anyone. I'd search to find one made with real wood instead of the pressed cardboard junk.

As suggested by someone else, since I have heavy components, I reinforced with L brackets in the back, and added caster wheels. Much better unit now. Happy with it now.

Durable and easy to assemble

I wanted a deep and black entertainment stand so I could put my sub-woofer on it. I chose to leave the glass door off versus cutting the back (needed about 3/4" more depth), and it works great. People complained it wasn't stable, so I spent $9 for 40 black L brackets w/screws. I honestly don't think I needed them, but used them. I'm really happy, and have a spare shelf.

Nice old school style stereo cabinet works perfect for my 80’s marantz stereo. Easy to put together total build time was maybe 15mins.

I liked the materials & easy installation.
