9005
Price is right and they are nice and bright. Hopefully they hold up

Excellent quality and low price.
I bought these to replace the high beams/ daytime running lights on my 2008 Subaru Outback. I was considering buying 9005 HID ballasts and replacement bulbs but I went with these because I read that the lower voltage of the daytime running lights (Subaru uses the high beams as DRL's) make HID's flicker or not work. I'm glad because these are plenty bright and much less expensive and less of a hassle than the 8000k H7 HID kit that I installed for my low beams. I am happy with my HID's, but had I realized how much cheaper and easier these are to install (no modifications for these bulbs), I would not have bothered buying the HID kit. The only issue I had with these 9005 and also the 9006 Optilux bulbs that I used to replace my fog light bulbs was at first they did not seem to fit in the sockets. I assume the o-rings on these are slightly thicker than the OEM/ Syvania bulbs, but I smeared a dab of Vaseline on the o-rings and that helped them slip in and twist-lock into place. If your bulbs seem too tight to fit, try Vaseline or silicone grease on the o-rings before you return them or start hacking away with a Dremel tool or a file. I'd rather have them snug and know the o-ring is sealing out water and dust and keeping them snug than have them too loose, top rattling around and letting water and dust in. As far as the higher wattage, they are noticeable brighter and whiter than 55 watt bulbs, but they do not look almost twice as bright as the math would suggest. I have 100 watt high beam bulbs and 80 watt fog bulbs. I have not had an issue with wiring overheating or getting pulled over or flashed at for blinding other drivers. I suppose each car's wiring and headlight reflectors is different, but on my 2008 Subaru Outback I have had no problems. The best thing about these is the price. I have spent $60+ on other (mostly Sylvania UltraStar and SilverStar) bulbs, and these Optilux bulbs are better for 25%-30% of the price. I am slowly upgrading all my family member's cars with Optilux bulbs because I am that happy with the quality and price. I highly recommend these.

So far, so good!
This bulb came quickly. I'd used my last 9005 to replace a burned out drivers' side headlight (high beam / DRL bulb several days ago, as expected the replacement was brighter than the still working but old bulb on the passenger side. So, I ordered this one & installed it on the passenger side. The old p.s. side bulb was almost as blackened inside as the d.s. bulb that had burned out, ergo the dimness of the old p.s. bulb, as well as higher resistance meaning a less bright filament. Double whammy. This new (Hella) bulb on the p.s. seems slightly brighter than the Philips bulb on the d.s., which I would estimate has under 5 hours use as a high beam, maybe 15 hours use as a reduced brightness DRL. (Does initial brightness burn off a bit in very early usage? Dunno!) In any event, having the brighter bulb on the p.s. os probably a good idea. This Hella bulb is made in S. Korea: Notable for those trying to avoid Chinese products when practical, and at least buy from an ally. :-) Note: Deterioration of the interior reflective surfaces of the headlight housings was a big problem in this, my 2009 Subie Outback, as it really dimmed and yellowed the headlights, even with new bulbs. A couple years in, there seems to be no deterioration of the reflective surfaces inside the new / replacement / aftermarket headlight housings I swapped in, nor deterioration of the clear "lense" / front. Yay!!

NO GOOD FOR HIGH BEAM BULBS
Light quality PATHETIC !!! These were supposedly rated at 100 watt. They are not bright at all. I installed on a Subaru Tribeca High Beam bulbs. Almost indistinguishable from the separate Low Beam bulbs. I’d pull them out and return them if it wasn’t such a pain to remove/ install. Have to remove battery on one side and air filter housing assy on opposite side.

Daytime running/highbeam...
My daytime running/highbeam bulbs were looking dull. Rearly use my highbeams. Lots of people are using yellow in the highbeam location. Figure it would look.... interesting as a daytime default. Ill update later if necessary. Update... not that yellow. Just looks like old halogen bulbs.

Achieved the look I was after
Installed these on a 2024 4Runner Limited in place of the factory DRL bulbs. Installation was straightforward, and the fit is similar to factory DRL bulbs. The factory DRL’s being just white halogen were not noticeable enough for me. I want my vehicle to be seen by other vehicles, which is the point of DRL’s. The light quality of the yellow bulbs draws attention without being overwhelming. At 65 watts, these are only 5 watts greater than the factory DRL’s so overheating should not be an issue. I achieved the look I was after without wiring modifications or significant expense. Time will determine the longevity of these bulbs, but Hella is a trusted name in automotive lighting so I would expect that they will last.

Comparable To GE NightHawk Platinum
I find these comparable to the GE NightHawk Platinum bulbs. These might be just slightly whiter. I would expect 2.5-3 years of life out of these. These are not as white as the mostly illegal LEDs sold on Amazon that people use on the road anyway nor are they as white as HIDs. They are not going to be since these are halogen, but they work well in halogen headlight reflector housings with clean lenses designed for halogen bulbs. The light is white with just a slight hint of yellow and shines far down the road. The color is great for snow, rain, and fog whereas super white LEDs look like you are at hyperspace on the Millennium Falcon.

Beware
Bright but did not last very long before I was buying one replacement bulb

I bought both the high & low beam bulbs. While not the same as a high quality LED bulb, these lights are much whiter & brighter that the factory bulbs, and there's notably better vision. The 80w low beam bulbs, while brighter than factory, still appear disappointingly weak on wet or winter roads. It may just be the reflectors on my 2016 GMC tho. These 100w high beam bulbs on the other hand cut an impressive and blazing beam of light far into the darkness. I am more impressed that the vendor replaced one blown bulb near instantly after it blew a few weeks of use. I'm a little cautious with similarly priced LED bulbs because I have found that while much whiter and brighter, the vision/clarity has been quite poor, in past experience.
