Mr Christmas Animated Illuminated Music Box with Rotating Skaters

I received mine a week ago. It's a very nice music box with a smooth wooden finish, with a glass top and sides. The figures and scenery are nostalgic: Imagine a snowy city park in the early 1900s with lamp posts and park benches. Some of the figures skate around in a circle, while others are just looking on. I like the lighting in the box: It's low and warm, setting a calming mood as the music plays. I also like the fact that I can adjust the music volume. When the volume is low or off, I agree with another reviewer: You can hear some whirring from the motor as the skaters go around. For me, this isn't annoying since it's not squeaky or grinding. It's to be expected with any kind of item that is animated. And even if you don't turn on the box, it's great to just look at...and display it on top of a bureau or in a curio cabinet. It compliments any decor.If you are a fan of music boxes---or of decor with interior scenes and animation---this is one to get and at a fair price!

Pretty music box. Very beautiful. Only issue is music , parts of songs are not always on key, not due to a mechanical error, just the way the songs were recorded, the instruments had limitations. Also if you shut off the music, or play the music low, the music box animated characters skating do make some whirring noises.

Wonderful item! I have longed for something like this since childhood and now I am going to gift my children with it for Saint Nicks day. I spent hours just looking at it last night. Works well, sounds great and has an old timey charm that you just don't get from hi-tech toys, ever. I will update if it breaks down anytime soon, but it looks durable and hopefully we will get to enjoy it for years to come!

When we received it we opened it and tried it being it was a Christmas gift it worked for 3 minutes when then it stopped working, We saw the belt was off so we put it back on only for it to do it again. We have since sent it back.

These a re shown as very attractive winter/Christmas displays. I was disappointed that they ran on batteries, and once you heard the tinny music boxes, you knew they were not of high quality. I returned all five I had bought as gifts.

This is an elegant music box that brings some old fashioned charm to Christmas. Very well made and the audio is very good and adjustable. Will enjoy bringing this out each Christmas, I liked that it was not too large, however large enough to enjoy watching the skaters and the illumination. Captured Christmas magic for me from when I was little. Arrived promptly and packaged very well.

This music box is big, beautiful, and a steal for the price I got it for. I bought it as a Christmas gift for a wonderful person and I so badly wanted to keep it for myself. Great quality, beautifully crafted, colorful, with wonderful tunes. I will definitely be treating myself to one.

When I first turned it on the lights lit,the music played but the turntable and the skaters thereon didn't move.Being a country boy,and use to fixing things that don't work,and given that this is a Christmas Present,I did the only thing someone like me could do. I opened it up,found the drive belt just laying there and the small drive wheel on the bottom of theelectric motor's shaft and the larger wheel which is connected to the gear assembly were way out of alignment. I aligned the two wheels by pushing the smaller wheel down on the motor shaft to align it with the larger gear connected drive wheel. Then I put on the drive belt,fired it up,and it's been working just fine ever since.You Gotta watch out for drive belt and the alignment of the small drive wheel to the Large drive wheel. Their Q.C just isn't all that it should be. I hope this may help someone whose turntable isn't turning.
