Great book for beginners as well as advanced makers. Plenty of beautiful designs.

Celeste's new hardback book on modern embroidery is packed throughout with a pretty botanical theme. The colour palette in the 12 projects included are earthy tones such as mustards, greys, browns, creams and greens. Celeste will advise on the fabric, the thread and tools needed to complete the projects. Celeste will then show you how to transfer your design onto the fabric and how to place into the embroidery hoop. Celeste then shows you step by step how to begin stitching and to secure your first stitch aswell as securing your last stitch. (Looks very easy!) After you've learnt a few stitches and what you can use your projects on, Celeste then goes onto the projects. Each projects has a photographic step by step, what you will need, complete with diagrams and a 'Stitch Diary' for you to fill out to inspire and gather ideas. In the back of the book are the template designs, colour theory and an appendix to show you different stitching techniques. A lovely book for the beginner. Celeste shows you wide range of different ways to work with botanicals so their is a style for everyone.

Lovely quality and nice binding BUT this was not for me. Too basic. I bought this based on reviews there are many patterns in reality there are very few basic patterns one of which was featured in an embroidery mag and others seen on Pinterest either way there were not many patterns and they were not very exciting. Very few basic stitches shown nothing new at all. Don’t want to take away from the author so if your new to embroidery you’ll like this book. If you have even a bit of experience then you probably won’t really enjoy this book. Shame as I was very excited about it as it looks so fresh and exciting. I’ll try add a flip through at some point as if I’d had the option of viewing the book I would of skipped this one. Sorry 😬
