Q: Will these handle a 40 watt receiver (40x2)?

These speakers are rated at 5 watts RMS each and have 6 ohm impedance. I have them hooked up to a 50 watt amplifier and they provide plenty of volume for a living room. I just make sure I don't crank up my amplifier to its max. These speakers have a 79dB (1W/1M) sound pressure level (SPL) rating, which basically means at 1 watt of power, the Edifier P12 speakers are able to generate 79dB of sound at 1 meter distance. Since the Edifier P12 speakers have a rated RMS power of 5 watts, the maximum sound pressure level is 86dB. To me, in my home, these small speakers are plenty loud enough and I really like them. Great for the money. Bottom line: They probably CANNOT handle all the power of a 40 watt amplifier if it can deliver 40 watts of peak power at 6 ohms (or 8 ohms).

Q: Do these speakers have true stereo sound (left and right separation?

The box contains two speakers - one for right channel, and one for left channel. The separation depends on how far apart you place the two speakers.

Q: Are these speakers Alexa compaibla?

These are passive speakers. You connect them to an amplifier or receiver with speaker wire. If your receiver can connect to Alexa then yes. You may want to look at our Bluetooth enabled speakers to connect your Alexa device to the speaker.
