Two Replacement Keys for Hon File Cabinet Cut to Lock/Key Numbers from L001 to L010 pre Cut to Code by keys22 (L007)

I ordered a set of the L008 keys for an old file cabinet a family member inadvertently locked and we don't have a key for it. After looking around the web this looked promising, however, when I received the keys they appeared to have just had a grinder ran across the key blank and, sure enough, they didn't work in the lock. So I contacted the seller and it reinforced why we need to work with sellers instead of just pulling the return trigger with Amazon. Almost immediately, the seller verified that the cut was indeed correct for the lock, from the pictures I sent him, and they recommended that, if it is an older lock, I apply some WD-40 to the lock and try the key again. I was very skeptical but figured I'd better do my due diligence since this was indeed an old file cabinet I got from my workplace. I couldn't believe it, as soon as I applied the WD-40, it did indeed free up the mechanism, the key turned, the lock popped out, and I can again access the cabinet. Lesson learned and will wholeheartedly recommend this seller and these keys. Don't be fooled by the look and don't judge a book by its cover in this case. If it doesn't work at first, please contact the seller and see what they have to say before giving up, returning the product and/or leaving a negative review (all of which negatively impacts the seller in many different ways). This key was properly cut and worked great eventually! The old L007 lock was the problem. If at first you don’t succeed, spray WD 40, Liquid Wrench, or another spray lubricant in the lock, around the lock, and on the key. Put the lubricated key in. Give it time to penetrate, overnight if needed. We were about to give up when my husband gave it one last try. The lock turned with great force(to the left). Once open, I spent 5 min with the key and more WD 40 to loosen the lock up. Now works like almost new!

My old HON vertical file cabinet somehow got locked and I couldn't find the keys for it. I ordered these thinking how smart I was for saving $100+ for a locksmith. I checked and re-checked the code on the lock, even taking a photo and enlarging it to make SURE it was the correct code when I ordered them (L008). When they came, the code on the envelope said "L008". Yay! Right?? The keys fit perfectly INTO the lock but wouldn't turn it at all. After fiddling with it awhile, I went on a last, desperate hunt for the original keys, tuning my house upside down in the process. I finally found them! When I compared the 'teeth' on the original keys to those on these new keys; they were so different.... they were NOT... EVEN.... CLOSE!!!Thankfully, the return process at a Whole Foods store kiosk was very simple. But I would avoid this seller.

I was concerned that I would get these and they not work but they did the job perfectly. In the event you or or other lock a file cabinet start by getting the number on the front of the lock and search for the key number. On Amazon that will likely bring you here. Needed an L003 didn't know the brand for sure but search shows it should be a HON. I am familiar with the brand as I work in an office and have many cabinets (Nothing with that key number unfortunately or it would already be open). This key was cut and mailed with a 1 day turn around and worked so great job. Recommended.

Our UDC Chapter had a nice file cabinet donated to us with no keys. The lock was pushed in by mistake and we could not get it open. It was full of stuff! One of our ladies in the chapter informed us that we could order keys for it. So we got the lock number from the file cabinet and we now have two new keys that work.Thank you for getting them to us in a timely manner.
