These BK50 scanner/visualisers are sold for a wide price range. Basically anything in the range of £60 to £120. Get the £60 one and it's great value, for twice that you might expect more and woudn't be as happy probably.Use as a visualiser: It is a simple, rather slow webcam with a few rather dim lights and a black mat, but put together so it works easily as a visualiser. And it does therefore the job of much more expensive visualisers. Only niggles: it has no zoom, (so you basically work always on an A4 landscape area), and the LED light is dim, so you might want to use it in well lit room or buy one of those circular led light on a tripod for a few quid.Use as scanner: Comes with software on a mini CD but also provided is a link to downloadable software. I have scanned in a few documents and after a few minutes had figured out what the buttons do. Give yourself the time and try all those buttons out and you'll be fine. As it works in landscape you will often need the rotate button for scan, so don't rotate the physical document, rotate the scanned image in the software. Once you know the software it is actually quite good and with decent OCR if you need that.So, it is not the best scanner/visualiser out there but if you buy it for around £60 you really have something that is well worth what you paid for. So, 5 stars for the excellent value it represents.

Useful for digitising old photos, docs etc. Whilst the quality/resolution isn't always the best and the process can be a little clunky, it's permitted me to convert old albums into something easily shareable with the people they matter to.

The product does not do anything at all , it is just an expensive piece of plastic . does not function it messed up my laptop . the instruction manual is confusing and the product is useless

A bit fiddely

I couldn't download the software so had to return it.

Bought this for teaching but found that the video quality is very poor. Blurry picture. Waste of time and money.

Disappointed as my laptop is unable to install the software so this is basically just an expensive camera.

I use this camera as a visualiser in class. I can write or draw on paper and the children can see it as it happens. I know I can do that on an interactive whiteboard too, but, not being a slender nelly, the children can't see past me! so I prefer the visualiser. The children also love using it to demonstrate their work and share it with the rest of the class clearly. It has added a new dimension to the teaching and learning in my classroom.
