Interesting read
Not just for a teen but for anyone interested in the Percy Jackson series or Greek mythology. Would like to see more things like this.

Good, Informational Book
This book, just so you know, is not another Percy Jackson book--it's a lot of authors writing about different parts and themes of Percy Jackson. Of course, it doesn't have action, but it's got some pretty cool topics and a lot of info. There might be spoilers if you haven't read the whole series, so make sure you've read all those before you buy it, but this book is worth the measly price (especially the kindle price).

An interesting diversion
As I was waiting for House of Hades to come out, I scrolled through Riordan-related titles and found this little gem. As I said, its more of a diversion, full of treatises (treati? LOL!) about the nature of the Percy Jackson-verse. Some are better than others, and for some readers of Riordan, it may not be interesting at all. I enjoyed it, though it will probably be some time before I read it again.

I'm picky
This book came with a little fold in the bottom right hand corner of the cover. I only mention this because as a book lover I try to buy my books in perfect condition and my daughter may feel the same icky feeling when I give this to her for Christmas. Other than that, the book is in fine condition.

Rick Riordan Rocks!
We recently bought Demigods and Monsters. It had the author's spin on Greek Gods and monsters as well as other authors' opinions. I liked the essay on grading the parents and parent-gods. It also had a helpful glossary of gods, heroes, myths, and monsters. It is a must-read for followers of the Percy Jackson series. Both the adult and kid in this family thoroughly enjoyed it!

Insights
Some of the essays give you a huge glimpse into how Percy did a lot of the things the mythological heroes did. Percy really didn't repeat the tasks, he did them in an original way. Riordan has a deep understanding of Greek mythology. I wonder what the Magnum Chase series will be like.

Great for P. Jackson fans, but not truly captivating - buy last
My kid is crazy about anything related to Percy Jackson. Riordan's books were a great bridge for him to other kinds of mythology, too. This book didn't captivate him as much as the "real" Percy stories, but he still enjoyed them. It's a collection of essays, not a traditional story.

❤️❤️❤️
I thoroughly enjoyed every essay. It was a big refresher on the PJO series I read earlier this year and the last book to complete my collection of all of Rick Riordan’s works.

For tweens, teens, or adults who love these fantastical tales, you will find this series to be a page-turner
My son loves the Rick Riordan Heroes of Olympus series. I bought it for him, but ended up reading it myself too (while on a loooong flight) and liking it. So for tweens, teens, or adults who love these fantastical tales, you will find this series to be a page-turner

Riordan review
Kids didn't enjoy this half as much as the fiction titles they devour by Riordan. Most of background on the kids and monsters in the previous/other books...didn't spend as much time with it as I had hoped!

These are essays on Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson series, no new stories
These essays were interesting , and showed what a great writer Rick Riordan is, but the hunger for new stories was not satisfied

Interesting but boring
Cool but it's just authors talking about the books and how they were written. Bit of a waste .😕 😴😟
