The Bhagavad Gita for Daily Living, Volume 1: A Verse-by-Verse Commentary: Chapters 1-6 The End of Sorrow Review: Religious book - I personally feel that everyone should once read the Bhagwad Gita, this book is not exactly the same but it does have good messages / values that one can implement in their life. Review: I read a few pages every night - I have been practicing passage meditation for nine months. I have read the Gita 3 times. This is a good explanation of the meanings of the verses for someone fluent in english. It is a great way to wind up my day and prepare for sleep

Highly recommended even if you never heard of the Bhagavad Gita
Amazing how this was written almost 50 years ago and the examples of everyday life used in the book are still relevant in 2023. Have been listening to the Audiobooks on long walks and sometimes doing the read along with it. Audio book is 50 hours and well worth the listen. If you have any questions about life, feel stuck somewhere or just don't know what to do next you might want to give it a listen. The Bhagavad Gita has answers to questions you would probably not think of asking if you are just starting out on your spiritual life journey. Even if you don't think or know you are on a spiritual journey, you could always change your mind. The wisdom in this set of 3 books and the Audiobook which has all 3 books in it, is relevant to all religions not just eastern religions or even if you are not religious at all, just as relevant. Purchased the books because they have a glossary of unfamiliar terms at the back of the book that help with the audiobook. Somewhere in there, Eknath Easwaran talks about how life is a series of choices, then gives one some context about what those choices are; the good and the not so good and where they lead. A friend used to tell me, you can learn your lessons through pain or through joy, the choice is yours. This book helps you sort through the choices.

This is the best spiritual reading I have ever encountered. The author, a Hindu, draws on all major religions to make his comments about each reading from the Gita. proving that all religions have reached the same understanding of our place in the universe, although with different approaches to the same requirements - Treat you neighbor as you would like to be treated.

Excellent insights into a fairly foreign and somewhat difficult text. Deeply appreciated.

Great book for evening reflection
I’ve been using this book as an evening self-reflection time. I will read a passage or two and discuss with someone, journal to process what I read.

Mit einem guten Wörterbuch (english/english) durchaus gut zu lesen! Der Kommentar ist auch für westliche Leser verständlich. Habe zwar alle drei Bände, aber bin noch bei Volume 1! Danke!

Its a “okay” book with well desciption of Bhagwad Gita. But its comparison at several instances to other religions especially Islam is not a good example. The concept of other religion and its values differ completely to that of Hinduism. Hence I don’t recommend this book.
