Great pan for the food/health nut in your family.
My girlfriend is very big into the organic food wave of the past couple years. She's always searching for pan that won't "leech" metals or dangerous chemicals into the food when cooking at high heat. Needless to say, it all goes over my head, but when I buy things for her, I always try to do my research and find the safest products possible. This pan seemed like a good choice and was girlfriend approved, so I did something right! She uses this pan nearly every day and has very little issues with food sticking to the surface of the pan. Keep in mind, the more expensive, safe pans require a little maintenance work, but it's very quick and easy to do. Obviously this shouldn't go into the dishwasher, and can be simply wiped out with a paper towel/rag/etc. You've likely heard of curing or seasoning your cast-iron pans. It's a couple extra minutes, but is definitely worth it. It will keep your pan clean, strong, free from rust, and will also prevent food from sticking to it.If you have a health/food nut in your family, this is definitely the pan for them, even though it's a little more expensive. This is a pan that could last you a lifetime if taken care of properly.

Poor quality X2
I was pleased to find any 12" light weight cast iron pan and was excited by the price of this one. Once I received my first one, there was a large divot right in the middle of the pan bottom that caused it not to sit flat on the cooking surface. I returned it thinking that it was just a dent. Then the second one came with the same problem. I returned it for a refund as a result. This may work ok for a gas stove, but was utterly useless for a smooth cooktop. I went with cast iron to get away from warped pans.I have since replaced it with an excel steel pan that was twice as expensive, but the quality is top notch.

Better than non-Stick for Browning
This is a light-weight cast iron pan. I am unable to use heavier pots and pans now but still needed a cast iron type pan to brown and sear meat. This works fine for the higher temps needed to achieve a good sear on meat. It is easy to clean and just needs a light oiling before each use. The color is a beautiful deep red. I only wish it had a lid.

Okay, using plastic utensils, it still scratched the "natural seasoning" treatment
It's lighter than my cast iron and has good heat distribution. I bought this pan to keep from scratching my glass top stove with cast iron but it's lousy at frying an egg which was its primary function. Egg sticks and that stinks. I'm no novice in the kitchen, cooked for 40 years, owned a catering company. Clean this pan with oil, just like my inherited seasoned cast iron, no soap, no water. Still it sticks and I can't seem to season it on top of the natural seasoning (whatever that is). It scratches easily as well. So another star produced and endorsed crappy piece of cookware--when will I learn?

Love this pan!!!
I just received this 12 inch pan today and it is fabulous!!! I used it right away today!! I made sure that the pan got really hot, placed the meat in the pot and did not move the meat around until the pan released it easily. I made pepper steak with onions and nothing stuck to the pan. I rinsed with warm water, oiled it up and put it away. the pan also is not too heavy, just a perfect weight. I highly recommend it.

Not as good as the 8" version. Coating failing.
I bought a bunch of cast iron pans recently and this is the best one. Whoever Guy got to make these things combined the best of cast iron with a more light weight handle and it is brilliant. The interior of the pan is so easy to clean and if you just do a bit of oil before cooking and wipe clean with a sponge with no soap, the coating builds up til it is like cooking with a non stick pan!Update June 26, 2016:Okay, not so great after all. I bought the 8" pan originally and it is great, but after buying the 10" and 12", they are not as impressive. I threw out this 12" pan. Not bothering to get a replacement. The coating is coming off and everything sticks to it. The 10" is starting to show signs as well. The process they have of coating this in ceramic is obviously a bit dicey and not taking as well on the larger pans. Would not buy again in 10 or 12" .

hated how heavy the old style cast iron pans are ...
I light the light weight cast iron, hated how heavy the old style cast iron pans are and it works well with my flat top stove. I make sure I've sprayed oil into every time before I use it. Plus I clean the bottom before and after use, but then have to do that with all my pans for my stove. Would of liked a lid, but did have one from my last pan that works will with it. Food does stick to the 2 metal screws inside, a little scrub brush does remove it when cleaning.

One of the worst pans I've used, sorry Guy.
I love Guy Fieri and his show. Really great positive guy I'd love to drink a beer with. After this review however he might not want to have a beer with me, but hopefully will test his product endorsements more carefully in the future. I'm sorry to say I don't understand how he could give his name for this pan. I'm an avid cook and a cast iron pan enthusiast. Unfortunately I had to returned this pan after first use. You heat it up enough to sear a nice steak and the center warps outwards making the pan wobble on the stovetop. I've tried cheap chinese pans that didn't do that. In addition the surface of the cast iron inside is especially rough just to give your food a little extra stick. It literally feels like the grip tape on a skateboard. As a consultant for product development and branding this product and branding deal both baffle me. I was excited to use my classic cast iron Lodge pan this morning and was quickly reminded that lifting a little extra weight will reward you with prefect results unless you are one of those freaks that use soap and steel wool on their cast iron pan...

Actually cast iron not coated ceramic or Teflon. Not as light as others but sturdy.
When I first got it the riveting was loose so I send them a message and they got back to me right away with a return number. The post office would not except the return prepaid and when I talked to the company they said don’t worry we have already send out a new one. The new one was the the next day.Have used this pan a few times already, acts just like my other cast iron. Good pan and good price. It’s hard to find a good light weight cast iron that is actually cast iron and not coated with something.
