I chose this 9” Banneton as it was perfect for the 750g sourdough loaves I make at home. My first few loaves were made using it with the supplied liner and they turned out great, but obviously the loaves didn’t have those characteristic lines from the basket you associate with a sourdough loaf. The liner was also a bit of a nuisance to clean.My first attempt at using the banneton without the liner was a disaster. Although I floured it well, the dough stuck to it and collapsed when I finally got it out. Back to using the liner for a while then.After a bit of research, I found out how to properly prepare a banneton, and now I use it all the time without the liner and it’s great. This is what works for me . . .1. Give the inside of the basket a light misting of clean water from a spray bottle2. Dust the inside if the basket with RICE FLOUR, not ordinary bread flour, and tip out any excess3. Add your dough and proof it using your chosen method (mine is in the fridge for 20 hours). I find that the disposable shower caps supplied in hotels are a perfect size to cover the banneton whilst proofing.4. After use, brush out all the excess rice flour and allow to completely dry before storing to prevent mould. I use a brand new 2” paintbrush for the jobSince doing it this way, I’ve had a perfect loaf every time, with no sticking and always with the lovely pattern too.I do hope you find this review helpful.

Does what it says on the tin. Well worth having if you're thinking about getting some extra bread tools. Bit hefty on the price though

Traditional, strurdy, well made, perfect size. Great that it comes with dough scraper and fabric cover. Gives traditional surface to dough. Does the job.

Nice product, stupid packaging. The blade doesn’t need to be in a plastic bag, and the basket doesn’t need to be in a huge half cotton / half plastic bag which is impossible to recycle.

Very good value for money, I thought it would not be a very good quality but it has surprised me.

Wonderfully cheap, the bowl and scraper do the trick nicely however the linen cover tore immediately. Thankfully one is a dab hand with a needle and thread.
