Five Stars
Longer and more in-depth than I expected but perfect if you want a deeper dive.

Great book for Technicians
Like another reviewer said the title is a bit misleading as it's more of an intermediate book. When I first read it I had just started taking my first ever metallurgy course so it was a bit heavy. However it's still a fantastic resource that I've been coming back to as a college student and now a technician/metallographer with a presentation that really makes most other intro metallurgy books seem amateurish by comparison. The only thing missing is a section on powder metallurgy but that alone is a beast of a topic.I will definitely be buying the 3rd edition.

More appropriate title: "Metallurgy for the Non-Metallurgist Engineering Student"
Fascinatingly dense and in-depth book, but deceptive book title. Doesn't do a good job introducing the subject to a true beginner; otherwise, you would need to do a lot of parallel background reading while exploring the book. It dives straight into technical terms without preliminary explanations. My previous knowledge being an engineering student helped fill in many of the initial gaps.

not quite " for the non metallurgist"
book is very well versed. But title is deceiving as first couple chapters can make your head spin if you haven't had any engineering or outside training on the formulas and chemical properties that are discussed. A little more involved than for non metallurgist as title perceives
