Great Book As We Shift Into the Fall Season
As fall is upon us and the colder weather hits, it is knitting season again. This book is filled with inspiring knits for the colder season. I love the variety and lovely patterns in this book. The sizing is for real women, not just those of us who are teeny-tiny.My favorite patterns are the Barnwood Pullover knit with Manos Del Uraguay yarn in a rib stitched pattern with variegated dark gray yarn. The Burdock Cardigan is super lovely. It is knit in a bright green using worsted weight yarn. It can be used to dress up or down - it has that flexibility of use. I also love the Market Jacket in a soft tannish orange, knit with worsted weight yarn with running flowered cables and a collar. The Savannah Cardigan is sweet and light-weight, knit with sportweight yarn and size five needles. It is in a soft blue-gray hue with a low collar. It looks very feminine. The Abilene Cardigan caught my eye. It is knit in a dark gray with worsted weight yarn. There is a pattern near the top, the bottom of the sleeves and the sweater bottom, but most of it is strict stockinette stitch. I'd love to try knitting it, perhaps in a lighter color. I love the Bluebonnet Scarf. It is knit in a variegated rose color from Schaefer yarns, 50% wool and 50% silk, with size six needles. It is stunning, utilizing lace and beads. I have a friend named Elke who would love the Spanish Moss Leg Warmers. They seem to have her name all over them. They are in a light green hue with a lace pattern and are knit with fingering weight yarn. When I get any knitting book I ask myself three questions:Will I knit the patterns? Are the instructions clear? Will the book be a good resource? The answer to all three of these questions is YES. I love this book.

Beautifully designed knits that could flatter any woman, with unique designs you personalize with you own colors and fit.
I was so excieted when I got this book I wanted to go out and purchase yarn for half a dozen of the projects in the book! Sweaters, tams, scarfs, socks and hats - all wonderful. And you don't have to be skinny to look great in them. I love the three quarter lenght sweaters that hide my hips, and the short ones that accent my waist. The Fair Isle patterns are beautiful and lend themselves to lots of interpretations. They are easy to knit. And the shaping. Oh, I love the way it shows you to shape a sweater to fit. I wish I was still 21, but even now, knowing how to shape it to my best advantage is wonderful. Great Aran knits, too. Don't let this book get away from you or you will be sorry. I will not leand mine out.

Appealing Designs
Usually when I check a book out of the library I can tell if it has enough interest for me to add it to my own bookshelf. I have not made any of the designs in this book so far, but there are several that I do want to make. That is how I judge, and I have so many knitting books which makes it difficult to find any with patterns that are not repetition. This book appealed to me personally, with a nice variety.

... found this book in the library and fell in love with the patterns
first found this book in the library and fell in love with the patterns, if i had the time i would probably make all of them! my absolute favorite pattern in here is the cobblestone trench coat. im a hooded sweater snob (extremely picky which is why i actually dont own that many) and i just LOVE the depth and shape of the hood on this sweater. and the fact its worked in worsted weight is even better for me since that seems to be the only weight i have in quantity at any given time

Love this book!
I am thrilled with this book! I want to make so many of the patterns! My Rav queue got much longer when I flipped through this book. There are 21 patterns, about half sweaters & cardigans (& one skirt) and half accessories, so an excellent blend of large & small projects. Some of the patterns are preppy, several are rustic. The patterns tend toward the classic, but very wearable! (For reference I am in my 30s with a girly & slightly preppy style.) I adored almost every single pattern, and that pretty much never happens. I highly recommend this book for intermediate to advanced knitters.

Lovely to look at
Beautiful book with elegant patterns. I haven't knit anything up from it yet (just received it today), but the patterns look simple enough for a relative newbie to knit. I am not brand new, I have a couple of blanket and a wrap completed..but, I probably start with the leg warmers. :)

Lived up to the hype.
Really beautiful patterns! I love in New England where the weather changes may moment to moment and these are some great knits for all types of weather. I haven't started yet but the first thing will definitely be The Burdock Cardigan ( the green one on the cover) but its not am easy decision. These are some great patterns. So glad I bought this book!

Great selection of knitwear patterns
I just got this book, and there is a great mix of projects, hats, gloves, socks, sweaters, cute skirt, leg warmers, a shrug, scarf. My favorites that I am planning on knitting for myself are the; Market Jacket, which has just enough cable/lace pattern to add interest to the stockinette. The Savannah Cardigan a delicately elegant sweater, and the McIntosh Boot Socks done in a beautiful rowan felted tweed DK. Other favorites are: The Barnwood Pullover a ribbed turtleneck, and the Cobblestone Trenchcoat is pretty cute too. You will have lots to choose from.

A Little Difficult
Really like the patterns but not so sure I am able to do them. I'm a little apprehensive about trying them.

Etwas Fair Isle bzw. Absolute Kaufempfehlung! -
