Great cardiac recipes
Love, love, love this book! My mom had bypass surgery and I have been making her meals from this book since! Tasty, easy to follow recipes, and short prep/cook time! I highly recommend this book

Is This a Joke?
Another lesson to stay away from independently published books. Book is VERY poorly written and amateurish. I'm not sure it was even professionally edited.Introductory information is clearly just info that she got off the internet. Author provides NO info about her qualifications for creating these recipes. How do I know to trust the nutritional information? How can I trust that these are truly heart-healthy recipes? No doctor review. Just pages and pages of recipes that are poorly formatted with badly written instructions. Also, the majority of the other reviews, when I looked at them more closely upon receiving this piece of junk are clearly fake. All poorly written with odd names, and on the same day.Don't waste your time or money with this. This is going right back to Amazon.

Rewrite the Appendix!
Recipes are average but it’s so frustrating to find a recipe from the APPENDIX! Marinara sauce is listed under DASH marinara sauce instead of marinara sauce. Recipes listed under E include Easy and beefy soup, easy baked Parmesan chips, easy breakfast potatoes ‘n veggies, easy breaksfast bread pudding, etc. If you’ve looked through the book and made a recipe it’s impossible to to find it again unless you know the exact wording of the title of recipe listed.

Slow Cook your way to a Healthy Heart!
I was born with heart conditions, which lead for me needing a heart and liver transplant. I have had to change my whole diet because of this. Heart Disease is the #1 killer, and some of it is preventable. The congenital abnormality I had at birth, formed in the womb during the first six weeks, and have always had to be heart aware. A lot of people wait to become "heart aware" until they are older and actually start having heart issues. If you have heart issues, or want to prevent them, this book is a great way to learn more about how to cook heart healthy. I like the fact it is also focused on using a slow cooker, in society we get so busy that it seems easier to grab fast food or takeout; but with this book you can throw your ingredients in the crock pot and know when you get home that evening you'll have a healthy meal for your family!I did get a copy of this book to review, and I'm so grateful I did. I really have enjoyed trying the recipes and it's been a lot easier for me during my recovery since I've been using the crock pot a lot!

I am merry that I discovered this book since I took in such gigantic amounts of new things from it and I wound up being intelligently mindful of the encompassing.

Book is ok, but didn't like many of recipes!
I liked the book okay. Some of the recipes were good, but a lot of them I didn't like.

Photo-less
I really love a good cookbook with illustrations to feel inspired by the recipes. There’s not a single picture in this book. How disappointing. Tell a lie I found just 1 at the back with the meal plan in black & white. I feel that a photoless cookbook becomes a boring book & lacks inspiration. I’ve immediately lost interest as all I see are words on a page & nothing to motivate me

Loads of content, no pictures
There are loads of recipes for you to choose from in the book. Downside is that there aren't any pictures, which makes doesn't give you an idea what the Meal looks like.

Buyer beware
The cover is the best part of the book. The legal disclaimer concerned me as the book is not recommended or endorsed by a professional such as heart specialist or dietician. It also made me look at the recipe ingredients more closely. I found a few ingredients that I was not familiar with and when researched their nutritional value was questionable. I noticed many typos, grammatical errors and missing ingredients ( if flax is in the title of recipe then one would expect flax to be an ingredient). I made the mistake of not looking closely at the book or at other reviews for 2 weeks after I received the book. I would have returned it but it was too late.
