There is another version of this nightlight, which looks almost identical. But the other version has a much better ambient light sensor. I have two of the 'older' model of these nightlights. They work extremely well, except for one annoyance. There is no physical colour selector, like with this newer model, and if the older version loses power, even for a split second, it reverts from warm white, to its default colour of purple/pink. My country village does suffer from the occasional brown out or short power outage. I always know this has happened, if I arrive home at night and my house looks like a Barbie house. Why on earth, the older version does not default to warm white instead of Barbie pink is beyond me?? So! when I saw this version, where you can manually select the light colour, I thought great! Unfortunately, this model has two things I dislike. Firstly, the white light is a cool white rather than the preferred warm white, but the biggest gripe is that the ambient light sensor is terrible. The older models begin to turn on at dusk, as you would expect. This! model turns the light on while it is still early evening, waaaay too early. I have kept it, simply because I cannot be bothered to re-box and return. It does! work. Just not very well.
