Great 3/4 Slip to MPT Union
I used this 'NIBCO 4733-4 Series CPVC and Brass Pipe Fitting, Union, 3/4" Slip x NPT Male' to connect between 3/4" CPVC pipe and a 3/4" FPT ball valve. Using the union will allow me to remove and reinstall the valve without having to cut and re-glue pipes and fittings, plus I'll be able to orient the valve in the desired position relative to the pipe regardless of how much I need to tighten the fitting in order to prevent leakage. And it's a good thing I used this, because the crappy, expensive (RectorSeal T Plus 2) thread sealer compound I used is leaking (despite my having tightened the tapered pipe thread fittings all the way), so now I am going to have to remove and reinstall the valve. (And I'll use the old tried-and-true Teflon tape to seal the pipe threads this time!)Since this is installed on the inlet (cold water) side of my water heater, I could have used a readily-available 3/4" FPT PVC union, along with an assortment of other CPVC parts, instead of this part; however, this part provided a much cleaner installation in half the space of the other mess.So I am pleased with this union, and I've recommended it to friends who are about to dive in and do similar plumbing jobs. By the way, I was able to find the 1/2" version of this NIBCO union at a local brick & mortar (H.D.), but they didn't stock this 3/4" part. So thanks to Amazon for coming to the rescue!

By far the best cpvc unions on the market.
These are hands down the number one union made for cpvc. Ignore the review saying they are supposd to be brass. They have always been copper and the discription states they are copper. And ignore the review complaing thay don't work with pvc. Of course they don't pvc is a different sized pipe. It also plainly states in the discription they are for cpvc.

Copper, not Brass, but Okay for Most Uses
Worked fine. The metal, male end is copper, not brass, as advertised. That said, the copper alloy used is suitable for potable water supply and a copper-brass joint poses a little risk of galvanic corrosion.

it worked
It worked but I needed a lot of plastic tape on the threads to make a seal to plastic mating threads but that may have been due to the mating side. The quick connect aspect to CPVC piping worked great.
