Valley Enterprises 3.5mm Female to 3.5mm Male TRRS Right Angle Gold Headphone Adapter

I recently replaced the headphones that I use with my iPhone 5. The old headphones had an right ange headphone plug so when I had the phone in my pocket the jack did not stick straight out. My new headphones have a straight plug and when I put my phone in my pocket I was afraid that I'd end up breaking off the plug or damaging the jack on the phone. Thus, I wanted a right angle adapter that would still allow me to use the inline controls and mic. This adapter did the trick. It's a little bulky, but no wider than the phone and case.

Finally! I now have two elbow adapters that will carry the audio signal without disabling the headset controls. They work perfectly in all respects.Except for these, the only adapters I've found anywhere that are TRRS and at one end but only TRS at the other, male or female as the case may be. I still don't understand why anybody would even want a TRRS x TRS adapter yet it seems that 95% of the adapters you see in stores are of that type. I need 90-degree adapters like this because they allow the cord to hang down from the phone in a way that is less prone to snagging and tangling, but at the same time I need the pause/resume and volume control on the headset to continue working. Though it seems like a trivial issue, the ability to pause, resume, or control the volume from the cord means not having to take the phone out of my pocket or holder every time is a HUGE deal. The same goes for moderating the volume as required by ambient noise levels. Doctors and ergonomics engineers warn us about "smart phone neck", caused by constantly looking down at our screens, so being able to do routine things like pausing the music without looking at the screen means a more comfortable user experience.I would have found these sooner but I didn't know the technical terminology until recently.

Sometimes works sometimes doesn't. Bends easy. Feels cheaply made.

Functionally, this adapter is great. However, I found it too bulky for my application and this ended up in a storage box full of other cables and connectors. Despite that, the construction is solid and the item is well priced.

I got this for my Xbox One Stereo Headset.I had always had Turtle Beaches, which had a right angle connector by default, for my Xbox 360. When I got the xbox one, the best price was on the Xbox One stereo headset ( 41$ at the time) so I got them. When i first got the headset, I was questioning the connection (non right-angle) from the headset to the adapter. So, i began to look everywhere for a right angle adapter. After extensive research(tons of sites), I felt this one was the best option.I was rewarded. This does in fact work with the xbox one stereo headset. I can still communicate with the mic, and hear game volume, all while having the comfort of knowing I wasnt bending the wire and creating a broken cable.TL,DR: it wors with the xbox stereo headset if you have trust issues about the default non-right angle connection.

Works just as expected. 4 pole functions work with my one button microphone ear buds. Only surprise is that it's chunky and heavy. At the end of light weight ear buds it's an anchor. Also adds bulk when plugged into my phone. Otherwise, unless it ever fails to work, it would be 5 stars.

I just didn't want my earpods jack sticking out vertically, it was very annoying. This solved the problem and provides full earpod button functionality as well. I just wish it was a little smaller/slimmer so only 4 stars.
