I have been using canes for over thirty years now and I know a thing our two about canes.I ordered this tip the other day and it arrived today, I couldn’t wait to try it out so I put it on my favorite cane,a Hugo Derby cane and it worked the nuts! This is one great tip, when I first took it out of the box it seemed too heavy but once on the can it was a joy to walk with. It made the cane pengellum perfectly with very little effort and it just felt perfect when I walked with it.I took it outside on my wet wooden deck and it didn’t slip once as I tested it on that cold wet wood. This is a well thought out and designed product and I went right to my computer and orders two more for my other single canes,from Amazon of coarse!This is a great Cane tip, makes using a cane a pleasure!- Floyd Smith

Have used this cane for 3 days. I am pleased. Seems to have a better 'grip' on the ground. In a couple of weeks I will have a better sense. Of course, how long will it last??? We'll see.

I love this cane tip. I use my cane due to balance and foot drop from Multiple Sclerosis. The tip that was on my cane had finally worn through. The durability of this new one looks great but what I love are the curved edges all around this tip. Instead of catching on a surface that is not smooth it rolls right over. It also allows for your forward movement as you are lifting your cane for your next step. Also, someone here pointed out that you can rotate it as you use to keep wear equal on all sides. I would definitely recommend.

Within two days my cane broke through the sidewall. Expensive learning experience. Avoid this overpriced item.

I had a little trouble getting this tip to fit at first. A small drop of lubricant did the trick. I spend a lot of time on dirt trails and in very wet, Pacific Northwest, conditions. I find the "wings" on the tip work very well especially on sloped areas. This is a good tip and so far shows good wearability. The larger that normal surface area also helps on muddy surfaces and even on coastal wet sand while walking on the coast beaches. Good product.

Replaced the standard tip on my Medline MDS86415 black aluminum cane with this. I considered getting a folding cane that’s already equipped with a quad tip, but I read some complaints about them folding up unexpectedly (!) and I like the “hook” handle (so convenient), foam grip and light weight of my cane.PROS:- Much easier to walk with than the standard tip. I walk faster now. Lets you walk with a normal “heel-flat-toe” motion.- Easy to put on: remove old tip and put new one on, with a twisting motion, and adjust cane height as needed (usually one hole shorter.)CONS:- Cane doesn’t stand alone, but I’d rather lean it against a wall or hang my cane off the back of a chair than have a wider/heavier base.- Takes a little getting used to; I just started using it and occasionally I step on the “wing” closest to my foot. But as with anything you step on while using a cane, I immediately & instinctively stop moving. Then I adjust my position and go on.

Due to the added height, this cane tip took a few days to get used to and you have to be careful to not use it too close to your own feet or you can step on its wings and trip yourself. BUT for encouraging good posture as you walk, and more stability as I walk or get up, it's absolutely wonderful! I have really bad knees, prone to falling over, and I just plane feel better since I started using this tip a little over a month ago! Bottom line... Has a bit of "learning curve" to be able to use, but once you get the hang of it, you'll walk and funcion MUCH better than you did when you used the "standard cane tips".
