Strategic Business Management Exam Room Notes 2020 Paperback – 18 May 2020

Excellent book for use in exam conditions. Just make sure to tab it up nicely and it includes so many useful points. Ordering in 2 separate ways was brilliant and helped to find specific points more quickly. Would recommend to anyone doing SBM. I used these notes alone, rather than in conjunction with my course notes and found this worked best for me. I made sure to bring in the key notes but this book included pretty much everything I needed for reference.

Quite average and did not come in useful

Clearly hasn’t been proof read properly as just from reviewing around 100 pages I noticed a number of grammatical errors, unfinished sentences, a numbered list that goes 1,2,3,6, and even errors in the accounting standards (IFRS 16). Content is as expected, and the best thing about the book is the useful contents ordered by both A-Z and by topic. However I think you are best off saving your money and using a combination of notes from college and the ICAEW question bank/study manual. I would request a refund but I have already highlighted and made notes on some pages - I doubt I will use it in the exams though. Overall very disappointed in the purchase.

As another reviewer has noted there are a lot of spelling & grammar mistakes, half finished sentences/missing words and also a lot of repetition e.g. there is a list of risks which has the same risk noted three different times. I think the contents page by topic could have been better organised as well. I found the FR 2019 exam notes really helpful but have been disappointed by the SBM ones. Makes me question what other mistakes there may be in terms of the actual content?
