I recommend buying Lonely Planet’s tourist guides before travelling. It will make your trip 10000 times better

This version is four or five years old. A new one is due un September. Worth waiting for if you can.

Exactly what I was looking for and even better than I hoped it would be.

Arrived in great condition and covers most of the key areas to visit. It is weighty though and it might be easier for those not visiting all of China to just get the individual city editions which would be easier to carry with you when you are out and about exploring.

I moved to China for work this year and of course wouldn’t go anywhere new without a lonely planet book. Love to read the little sections on history and culture. The survival guide is particularly helpful in China. I dod fond some of the bars are out of date in Xi’an

Good book but not packaged very carefully, the corners of the book were slightly damaged/squashed in transit which is disappointing as it doesn't look new.
