Effective for cooling rooms
I'm writing this review with a large degree of ambivalence about most features. Sure, this thing can dehumidify. Sure, it's got a functional and fairly intricate remote control that works. Sure, there's a sleep mode. But I don't really care about that- my use case is not dependent on it at all. What this unit does for me, in simple terms, is provide cooling in a room that's prone to overheating. My computer heats up my office, which is separated from the rest of the house but on the same AC zone for some reason. The thermostat is on a separate floor, so that floor will get freezing cold while my office heats back up to an uncomfortable temperature. I needed something to change. It's not quiet, but it's not THAT loud. It has Alexa integration, which allows me to have it turned off automatically whenever I'm not in the office. And, for the first time since I set up my office, I'm literally shivering in this room. So is it perfect? Nah. But it works, and it has some features I care about.

Absolutely amazing
First I have to commit that this is a loud machine. However, I bought this on June 2021 and now it’s August 2025 this thing still giving me an 62 Fahrenheit (lowest you can go) room. It’s definitely worth every penny you spent on it.

On the loud side, but works well
Really, I would like to give this 3.5 stars which isn't an option but taking off a full star because it is legit loud and half a star off for the lack of a quiet mode and quirky-ness of making it a connected device on the home network.I opted for the size rated for a 200 sf room which is the size of our bedroom, and it does a decent job of keeping our room cool but the unit is noisy. I've learned that it tends to quiet down a bit after it's been running for a bit and settles into a steady white noise and it really boils down to how you personally respond to that kind of noise. The sound doesn't bother my wife that much at all, I find it a bit annoying. I went ahead and purchased the re-usable flat ear plugs and put them in when I go to bed and that works perfectly fine, dulls the white noise to a level that I can sleep with it no problem. There is an element of just getting used to it too.So overall I would recommend this product as it gets the job done but bottom line is the noise level is a factor and come down to what you can tolerate. I do wish it had a quiet mode or a lower fan setting but not an option on this model.

APP FEATURE DOES NOT WORK
I bought this unit SPECIFICALLY for the APP enabled and Alexa enabled features in order to be able to control it while away from the same room. After getting the unit set up and trying to go through the painstaking process of connecting the unit to the MIDEA app, the unit refuses to connect. I followed all of the instructions 5 times through and on two different phones, an Android and an iPhone. The unit is still not able to be paired with MIDEA's OWN PROPRIETARY APP. In order to use the Alexa features, guess what? You need to have the unit set up on the MIDEA app that does not work. To me, this experience feels like a scam for an extra $30-$60 depending on if they have a coupon active or not. The non-app enabled units are around $300 where this one is $330-$360 depending on coupons. It's not too quiet, but I guess it cools the air as described. I would have saved the $30 if I would have known the app feature was a waste. Hope this saves someone else from making the same mistake and letting the company get away with advertising this feature when it does not work. Also of note, there was what looked like rust or corrosion around the edges of the window exhaust mount where it looked like the mount had been previously installed/used. However the unit itself had blue tape on all of the ports, and did not have markings to suggest use.Two stars for what feels like false advertising, and an overall disheartening experience.EDIT - Adjusting review to 1 star due to Amazon return process. Worst experience ever. Amazon and USPS locations WILL NOT ACCEPT the return. I had to locate a UPS drop off service in order to return this item, which cost more gas and time than dropping it off at the post office near my home. Absolutely will not be purchasing from Amazon anymore after this experience. Support your local businesses, and save yourself the hassle from Amazon, a company that does not care.
