Everything I hoped for!
Great palette! I like that the wells are bigger than a half pan so it’s easier to get larger brushes into the paint. Also, the well tray comes out in case you ever need to rinse it. There is a removable mixing tray in the lid thereby doubling your mixing space. This palette is well constructed and fairly light weight for the size. I do not intend to use it as a travel pallet, but it could be if you don’t mind the size. It’s long, but slim so wouldn’t take up that much space really. I also love that it has 33 wells because most of the plastic pallets only have 18 wells. I definitely recommend!

My Preciousssss
This is awesome. It is a great quality plastic with a smooth finish and is well made. The wells are easy to access and when I spray down the paints they stay nice and juicy because the angle is perfect. The removable mixing palette comes out easily and snaps securely back into place. The latch closes firmly with a satisfying grip. Unless you fill this up with water and try to carry it around, it keeps the paints from leaking. I bought a blue one, then a yellow one, and am doing everything in my power to rationalize buying more. If you like to pack up your paints and bring them on trips for safe and secure transport, get this palette. It if you just like having nice things. This is a gem.

Big watercolor palette
I like this watercolor palette because it has enough space for each of the 33 paint colors that go in the wells. You can close it for transportation. It also have a movable tray that can be used to mix paints.

Perfect for travel use to and from classes
I am new to watercolor and this is a perfect size to use for my classes and at home! Easy to close up and transport. Just make sure the watercolors are completely dry before closing it up to store. Easy to clean. Plenty of wells.

Almost perfect...
I would have given it 10 stars. Immediately love it for the weight the seeming sturdiness the size of the paint trays the amount of mixing space it just had everything I wanted. I'm very sad to report though that staining happens instantly. I'm usually a porcelain palette person, maybe this is very common now, but my old plastic one never really got much staining in 10 years. It's not a deal breaker, like I probably still would have bought it but now I know that I will keep my cool and warm color mixing areas separate as much as I can so that the staining doesn't impact my color mixing. It does seem to be genuinely airtight because you can feel a little push back when you close it. Oh and a bonus that I didn't notice from the description, the paint tray Pan actually pops out too and there's a whole other mixing surface under there. So good.

Best Palette on the Market
Of all available palettes, this one is the best. With 33 wells for colors, it’s plenty for everyone and the slanted, large wells make it very easy to use. I love that the top tray is removable should you want to mix on it (I usually don’t use it for mixing and have a separate tray for that) but the tray also keeps my swatch safe. With 33 colors, I needs the chart to remember what color is where. I think the well tray is also removable and I’m tempted to remove that and place a ton of half wells in it to get a lot more colors in? Maybe.

Well made and very durable
Surprised with the quality. It’s a solid 5 star! Built to last. It’s a tad on the bulky side, wells are very wide and the removable tray stays in place.

Perfect watercolor tray for the student or professional.
I read the reviews before I bought. Not all of them were good. I am going to dispute those who had negative comments. This tray has served me well. It contains a larger removable tray for mixing paints that can be washed easily. Plenty of cups for various colors. So many I choose to use some of them for mixing. The one criticism in the reviews was that it isn’t air tight. These people have no experience with watercolor. First, an experienced watercolorist will know with any tray one must spray the colors before starting. This seals more tightly than many, and fits neatly in a large bag. I suggest being carried flat, like any tray. Having been trained in painting in college, and have used watercolor for 5 years, I highly recommend this tray. It has served my needs well.

There are quite a few different kinds of these welled "leakproof" "travel" palettes on Amazon. None of them are particularly suitable for travel due to their enormous size, and numerous videos prove they aren't leakproof either. If that's what you're looking for, you'll need to go up a price bracket into the known brand name, professional quality accessories, but it's not the best idea for wet media anyway as humidity promotes mold growth. I bought the purple version of this box. It's definitely more lilac than purple in person, which is fine as I'm rather fond of lilac, but it would have been nice to know in advance that the pictures are useless. The outside of the lid is a smooth soft touch plastic and very enjoyable. Inside is a very distinct cream, not white as displayed in the images, but I have found this to be the case with all of these palettes with removeable trays. The only truly white ones seem to be the all in one molded ones. You may struggle to make accurate mixes in this palette with watercolours due to this. The wells themselves are a fine size, about equal to 1.5 full pans, and easily accessed with larger brushes so you're less likely to damage them. They are oriented far more suitably than the Paul Rubens wells, but you could switch the trays and have this one in the Paul Rubens box if you would prefer as they are the same size. The plastic for the trays is fairly low quality as you would expect and there are some strange inaccuracies in the sheets, different levels of polish and texture. I don't know that this would impact use, but it's something to be aware of. It's going to stain pretty quickly due to the nature of plastic anyway so the imperfections would soon be covered if the look of them would bother you. Thankfully none of the downfalls of this overpriced palette are of much concern to me as I pop out the removeable trays and use the boxes for pan storage, held in place with a little bit of Blu Tac, and then just switch them out as and when I want to keep them in the palette I'm using. I own far too much watercolour paint, it is an excellent problem to have. I can usually fit 74 full pans in the bottom of these kinds of boxes but this one is different. There are two raised edges running along the length of the inside of the box, separating the bottom space into three equally sized sections. There are no other raised edges like this and given that they're hidden underneath the well tray, I suspect it's not to make abnormally shaped mixing areas and is likely to help keep the tray in place instead. This makes storing pans slightly more difficult in this box compared to some of the others (Paul Rubens and Manci have completely flat bottoms beneath the well tray), offering enough space for 60 full pans, broken up into sets of 20 and with large gaps between them. I suppose I could use this to make 3 separate palettes within one box for different subjects rather than having 3 smaller tins on my desk. It's debatable whether this is more or less practical. The top tray does stay in place when closing the box though, which is something the other brands have thus far been unable to manage. I've added some images to show how I lay out the full pans if my explanation was confusing. They're white, so you can also clearly see that the palette itself is not. Like with anything you could spend your money on, it really depends on what you plan to do with the thing once you have it. For me, there are worse things I've spent my money on, but I'm not rushing to grab another one either. If they got rid of the raised edges in the bottom of the box, though, I'd likely get a few more in different colours. The matte, soft touch finish is really quite lovely and I wish more brands would adopt it over the sparkly gloss finish that scuffs and scratches so easily.

No chance of rust, like in my previous paint box. Seals well. Lots of palette mixing space. Love this item. Others in my art group live theirs too.
