Rogatywka Polish Veteran's Officer Cap This is a Polish Army veteran's officer’s hat from the World War II era known as Czapka rogatywka podoficera kompanii reprezentacyjnej. The hat features one metal eagle badge of Józef Piłsudski Legions on the front. The eagle badge is attached to the top of the cap's dark green fabric while a navy blue circular band is below, indicating the wear's unit. The hat also has a black leather chinstrap attached by two buttons engraved with the contemporary Polish eagle. On the inside of the cap is a clear plastic sweat diamond. Made of gabardine, a sturdy, tightly woven fabric of cotton, wool, or rayon twill. The cap is available in two sizes 56 (7 US) and 58 (7.25 US). Rogatywka is the Polish an asymmetrical, peaked, four-pointed cap used by various Polish military formations throughout the ages. It is a distant relative of its 18th century predecessor, konfederatka (because of use by members of the Bar Confederation), although similar caps has been used by light cavalry since 14th century. It consists of a four-pointed top and a short peak, usually made of black or brown leather.
