ART FOR YOUR FEET--My New Favorite Shoe!!
This is my second pair of Pachucos in as many weeks. It goes without saying that I love this shoe, but I've said it again anyway. My first pair was Tan (traditional neutral) in a size 9 Medium width and the second pair in Lime (a lovely muted shade), size 9 (again), but in the Wide width, so I feel qualified to compare the difference. My feet are what I describe as "thick," with both a long, low, flat-ish arch and a very high instep, so I'm never quite sure how a slip-on shoe which rides high up on the foot will work for me. It just depends on the shoe. I'm an "in-betweener" speaking width-wise because I need extra volume in a closed shoe. My feeling is that this shoe is built on a last which runs very true to size in both width and length. My foot is a true 9. I do not size down for sandals, even if the style permits. I like my feet to have the protection of the sole extending beyond my toes, for comfort, as well as safety. I don't have dainty little feet; that's a fact. But nothing, and I mean nothing, makes them look larger than wearing too small shoes which allow my toes to creep out over the edge of the sole, or my heels to hang over the back. By the way, fellow "big-footers" this style makes even my feet look, dare I say it, rather petite!!I was able to get into the medium width shoe and walk around easily, but it was snug, a little too snug to wear out for the day without a breaking in period. The wider width gave me just that much more room, more volume for my foot, while still fitting closely with no slip-slide--no break-in period necessary. It will be interesting to see how each pair adjusts over time, if they become stretched out, or simply customize to my foot. I'll update my review with this information in the future. If you have lean (not "meaty") feet and would never, ever in your lifetime require a wide shoe, you should stick with the B Width. Similarly, if you're always on the prowl for shoe styles that come in extended widths, you're a candidate for the C/D Width. (CAVEAT: If your feet require more than a Ladies C Width, this style is unlikely to fit you. And those with extremely narrow feet, the AA, AAA, AAAA brigade, will walk right out of these shoes.) But if you're like me and can go either way "depending," and it's more a question of comfort now, or comfort in time, I'd go with the wider shoe initially. If it turns out to be too roomy right off the bat, you can always make an exchange. This shoe is really worth the extra trouble, should an exchange be necessary. Honest!I've been a big fan of healthy feet promoting shoes for over thirty years when I refused to submit any longer to the torture of high heels. I wore Birkenstocks long before they were "cute," and fought my corporate dress code for the right to be comfortable (even if not conventionally stylish). So, when I say these shoes feel really, really good, you can believe me. Even at this early stage I'm willing to say that these Brand X Huaraches will give my "Birks" a run for their money. I was shocked (pleasantly) that a completely hand-made shoe, and a woven one at that, could be so smooth against the foot. The leather lace lies so flat against the insole that you do not feel anything against the bottom of your foot. Amazing! And my feet feel very well supported. If you've not researched this shoe on the Brand X Huaraches website, it's definitely worth a look-see. The company's been around since 1973 and has a number of styles and many more colors available in the leathers. I found it fascinating that the woven part of the shoe is one super-long continuous piece of leather, and fabricated without any glue. And the colors! Wow! Vegetable-tanned leathers always have that lovely soft, custom color appearance. The Pachuco is a beautiful and superbly-made shoe, handcrafted of very high quality materials, and comfortable right-out-of-the-box. It should only improve with wear, in both comfort and appearance. I would pay more for such a fine shoe, but I'm sure glad I didn't have to. I'll be buying more of these as soon as I make up my mind which colors I can't live without.UPDATE: I just received my third pair of Pachuco Brand X Huaraches in Blue and they are as perfect in construction, appearance, and fit as the other two pairs. I ordered the wider width to eliminate any break-in time for me. There was a little card enclosed from Brand X expaining that over time, and with exposure to sunlight the bright blue would darken to "denim" and finally to a near navy shade--a peculiarity of the blue dye. I remain a very satisfied customer. All my shoes were distributed by Footsmart.

The perfect summer shoe!
Wow, what a great shoe for summer, cool and comfortable, with a classic style that will last as long as they do. Excellent construction, love the tread. I am particularly impressed with the way the back strap fits snug without any rub whatsoever. I bought mine in the black, goes with so much. It is the perfect way to stay cool if you have a job where sandals that are barely-there are not appropriate. I get many compliments with each wear. My only complaint is now I don't want to wear anything else, need all the colors!!!! I got mine at Footsmart through Amazon, service is reliable and fast and the best price on the web.

So comfortable!
These shoes fit me (US6.5) tightly right out of the box, but broke in quickly and without blisters. The colors are wonderful (altho they do stain the feet on the 1st few wearings). The top sandal part is sturdy and the soles hold up well. My only complaint (tho it is a big one) is that the tops and bottoms separate after one season of wearing. I don't want to throw them out, as the individual parts are in such good shape, but they become impossible to walk in, with a third of the sole flapping at each step.I contacted the company and they said to just glue them together. WHAT? I am not a cobbler; I don't have the prerequisite glues and clamps to repair shoes. IMHO the shoes should stay together, especially at this price.

Green Huaraches
I bought these shoes this summer and I like them. Any ideas on where to buy lime shoe polish for these shoes?

The perfect huarache
I've worn different versions of huaraches most of my life, but these are probably the best. Good solid rubber tread sole versus the slick leather sole I've been used to gives you some arch support and cushioning, perfect fit on my average width size 7.5 feet and they're REALLY comfortable right out of the box. They're kind of pricy, but they're very well made and should last through many summers. I think I need to order another color so I don't wear my first pair out too soon. ;)

Love the Pachuco Huaraches!
I normally wear a 9 1/2 shoe, but in the Brand X Women's Pachuco Huarache Sandals, I wear a 9. If you are a 1/2 size foot, order the next size down.

Unbelievably comfortable
I'm writing this review because I'm coming back to order another pair. These shoes are fantastic. They're extremely comfortable, light and very attractive. I wish I could have one in every color.

Poor fit
I ordered these from Footsmart which turned out to be return shipping stupid. I ordered an 11W and they were huge. I kept trying to envision ways that I could keep them and not have to pay the $10 return shipping charges, but they were so long and so wide that my foot slipped all over. I thought I would try to order a 10 1/2 regular width, but they don't offer a 10 1/2. So back they went. I knew better than to order shoes on the web, especially when they don't have free return shipping. Never again...They seemed to be really nice quality though. I would have loved to keep them if they were a good fit.
