Spontex Specialist Decorators Sponge - Standard

I am re grouting tiled floors in my house, i needed some sponges to help clean up the tiles post putting new grout in. I have a Halfords 4ft Long Car Sponge but wanted something a little more specialist and these are a great price with good reviews so i picked two up for the first floor on the list.* These are compact sponges, they fit in the palm of my hand fairly easily, i would say probably a little bigger than a standard scouring pad. I was expecting something bigger, though am unsure as the dimensions are listed!* The texture is more porous and open than a normal wash or car sponge, it has a different feel and appearance to it. I read some reviews that mentioned the quality being less than expected but i would say bear in mind structurally they are different, they are more likely to tear if you start really applying pressure or running them over rough stone or concrete.* The level of absorbancy and control in picking up excess material, in this case excess grout, i found to be brilliant. I know if i had used the Halfords Jumbo sponge i would have been removing all of the grout not just the excess on the surface of the tiles.* I bought two as i felt i would either rip one or wear one out on the first floor i tiled, the first one easily managed the 5sq m and could have done some more. Am sure it would fare just as well with wallpaper and paint.Overall i would recommend these sponges, be aware they are slightly smaller than a typical household sponge but that size allows you to do a precise job, theres not much point in spending hours painting, papering and grouting to then wipe it all away/smudge it/groove it with a massive sponge.Excellent value, does a great job, very good additional to any DIY or Decorating Job.Five Stars.

The sponge is the size of a small shower sponge. Was expecting a much bigger sponge.

Quite a handy sized sponge with good absorbancy. Easy to use, holds a lot of liquid and great for sponging down walls. Appears to be durable but too early to tell.

It’s a good quality sponge. Slightly smaller than I expected, but as described.
