The Easy Baked Donut Cookbook: 60 Sweet and Savory Recipes for Your Oven and Mini Donut Maker

Any kind of donut you could ever imagine! There are recipes for basic and sugared, glazed, iced and frosted, filled, donut holes and donut desserts, and savory donuts. There were a few recipes for gluten-free and vegan as well but not very many. It would be nice if each recipe had a picture but they don’t.

I borrowed this on Kindle Unlimited then bought a physical copy for my kitchen. Whenever I watch cooking or baking shows where home cooks are learning to do better in the kitchen, I always says the most important thing is to teach a person about the kitchen, equipment, measuring, chopping, etc. The first chapter of this is that. It lays out the importance of planning, using your kitchen space wisely and measuring properly to get the best results. Seems obvious, but it never hurts to be reminded and it has some really helpful tips. Beyond that, these recipes are YUM! I got hooked on these glazed, baked cake donuts that a local convenience store sold then they stopped making them so I bought donut pans online. There were no recipes or instructions in what I bought, just 2 6 slot donut pans. With this book, I now know what to do with those pans. The glazed recipe isn't exactly what I wanted, but the pumpkin and snickerdoodle are SO GOOD! Most importantly, these recipes are easy to follow and make. As I get more comfortable making these recipes, I'll start experimenting to make my own creations with confidence because this book really gives you a solid foundation to build on. I absolutely love the author's style and wish they had many more cookbooks for me to add to my collection.

I've only made 2 recipes so far, but they're both excellent. (I reduce the sugar by half and use half whole wheat flour, so it's not the exact recipes, but close enough.) I'm anticipating excellence in the others.

I absolutely loved this book! I bought a copy and immediately went to work trying out a few of the recipes- check out the photos. You’ll see a chocolate old fashioned with chocolate frosting, plain old fashioned with vanilla glaze, churro donut holes, and the everything bagel donut bombs. Spectacular doesn’t even begin to describe how delicious these all were! I definitely have more of a savory tooth than a sweet one, so the everything bagel bombs spoke to me from before I even bought the book. I love the variety of recipes- everything from standard flavors for those of us who are more traditional, to the adventurous flavor combinations, to savory, and even doggy donuts! I second the reviews that mention there weren’t a lot of pictures, but I don’t think it took away from the quality of the book. The methods were clear and easy to follow, and I liked the intro section on all of the different substitutions possible and sizes you can bake the donuts. It was helpful to have options for whatever pans or ingredients you have around the house. It would have been nice to have the calorie count, but sometimes being a little sinful, and having an occasional ‘healthier’ treat is justified :) Overall I would highly recommend this book to any beginner baker who is looking for a decadent treat without the mess of frying oil and the hassle of making yeasted donuts (although there are recipes in here for that!). Great buy!

The measurements in the recipes are wrong. The donuts came out dense and with lack of flavor. What a waste of money.

The recipes in this book are absolutely delicious💖One of my favorites is the banana bread donuts. The recipes in this book have more flavor than anything I have found searching the Internet. I don’t fry or bake my donuts in the oven. I actually have a Bundt cake donut maker shown here. They come out beautifully in five minutes. I highly recommend this book!
