Ratech 18001 Pinion Yoke Holder Tool

Bent and twisted while installing the pinion crush washer. Keep in mind, that to crush that "washer" requires massive torque but still... Why not just make a quality product and charge more, when I am installing something as important (and money saving) as a differential overhaul money is no object/or at least secondary and I would gladly pay more for time-saving / convenience tools.

Works amazing! I used this to build a ford 8.8 mustang axle, and the tool held up well. I must admit that I used a 3/4 by 40 inch breaker bar for the 3/4 part of this tool. I do not know if that is what helped things go well or not, but for the ford 8.8s a large amount of force is used to break them loose, along with the crush collar force for the preload. I will caution on the ford rear, that there may be trouble getting the bolts in on the yoke and a thicker plate would be nicer; but I worked around all of that and got this tool to work just fine.

Only two holes lined up with the bolts and had to use a few washers to space it off the yoke to get a breaker bar in the slot. It works but it makes you work harder.

nice tool its made of thick sheetmetal. I was worried that if the tool was too thin it could damage drive shaft bolts used to hold it onto the pinion yoke, but its thick and will spread the load across a good portion of the bolt. i recommend this tool

Self explanatory use for holding the differential pinion yoke still for setting bearing pre-load and torque when installing or removing. Quick and easy to mount, universal bolt pattern fits most applications.

Very heavy duty construction, wish I knew that there was one that came with a yoke puller. Found out after I ordered this one, but will be getting it also.

this thing is awesome. i dont think i bought mine off amazon, but i got the one with the yoke puller. i used to have a tool that u had to unbolt from the yoke to check preload, install tool, then tighten crush sleeve, check again and on and on. with this tool, you bolt it up before you ever tear down the diff, and it never comes off until you are done. in my opinion its worth 3 times what they charge at least due to the time it saves. it takes a half inch and 3/4 inch breaker bar and fits i believe anything with round tires and a yoke. on the yoke puller i did however do away with the bolt it comes with and make a longer pusher bolt out of all thread. ground a point on the end and welded two nuts on the other end. it works awesome. wish they would have made it sooner.
