i LOVE this product
i LOVE this product! i purchased this adapter because my macbook pro does not have an ethernet outlet. i tried do a time machine backup to a seagate personal cloud but the upload was unsuccessful. seagate told me that an ethernet connection would be much faster and would definitely work. after losing valuable photos and documents last month, i was on a mission to back up in more than one location. so, i bought the sageworkz usb 3.0 hub with ethernet adapter. it not only helped with the backup connection but i gained 3 super fast usb slots. now i can backup, and transfer data from an external hard drive to a usb thumbdrive. i am a photographer, and i store photos on various external drives. i need the extra usb outlets and i need to constantly be backing up. i love this device. it is fast and sleek and extremely functional. and, as an added bonus, after i purchased the device, i received a hand written thank you note and a personal email making sure the device was to my liking. who does that anymore??? i love this company!

Works great! I needed the expansion on the USB ports. Perfect for thin laptops and tablets.

Works great as an Ethernet adapter, and is OK as a USB hub.
This works great as an Ethernet adapter, and is OK as a USB hub. This is a fine little device, and it looks really slick, so it definitely gets some style points. As an Ethernet adapter, it works great. I was able to get 125Mbit/s download and 12Mbit/s upload served up by my broadband connection (both the throttled maximums), so that's excellent. I used speedtest.net to multiple sites, and it was consistently excellent performance. To test the USB hub, I plugged it into a USB 3.0 port on my laptop, and used a Silicon Power 32G USB 3.0 flash drive as my test media. I tested the drive in all 3 ports on the hub, and also with the flash drive plugged directly into the laptop. Software used to measure the read and write speeds: NIRSoft USBDeview, SpeedOut, USB Flash Benchmark (run multiple times in each case, average results posted). The results: Directly plugged into the laptop: Read speed: NIRSoft: 167 MB/s, SpeedOut: 214 MB/s, USBFB: 195 MB/s max (slower on smaller file size tests) Write speed: NIRSoft: 17 MB/s, SpeedOut: 40 MB/s, USBFB: 31 MB/s max (slower on smaller files size tests) Plugged into the Sageworkz USB 3.0 Hub: Read speed: NIRSoft: 145 MB/s, SpeedOut: 206 MB/s, USBFB: 170 MB/s max (slower on smaller files size tests) Write speed: NIRSoft: 0.65 MB/s, SpeedOut: ??? MB/s (didn't usually complete the test), USBFB: 4.05 MB/s max Plugged into a competitor's USB 3.0 Hub: Read speed: NIRSoft: 169 MB/s, SpeedOut: 214 MB/s, USBFB: 195 MB/s max (slower on smaller files size tests) Write speed: NIRSoft: 17 MB/s, SpeedOut: 40 MB/s, USBFB: 26 MB/s max (slower on smaller files size tests)So for reading it does a fine job, but writing it's MUCH slower for 2 of the 3 benchmark tests. Interesting that NIRSoft report much slower writing speeds than the other two...In a real-life test, I needed to copy some files to a USB 3.0 flash drive, and it took a VERY long time. Unfortunately, I did the real-world test before I had done the benchmarks, so I didn't know what to expect. It was a bit frustrating to have it take so long...All in all, it's great as an Ethernet adapter and for reading from USB devices, but for writing it's very slow, unfortunately.I received a discount on this device in exchange for an unbiased review.

So far so good, it's an ethernet usb 3
So far so good, it's an ethernet usb 3.0 hub and working as expected with Win 10 on a Kangaroo PC. I had to adjust some settings to ensure it didn't go to "sleep" with the computer but it's working great since then.

Highly recommended!
Great product. Easy to use and does exactly as advertised. Transfer speeds are what i would expect. For the Ethernet port, I not only use this for my Windows Surface 3, but also for my Macbook Air! Great product.

Works Well!
Works very well. I expected to have it work just on plug in, but my particular computer needed a software download. So I had to do that. The CD for the software is included with instructions so no big deal. I am happy with it. I would recommend it.I gave it a 4 as I had to download the software and I'd prefer not to, but evidently this is not a requirement for all computers. I got it for a discount for an honest review.
