Exactly what I needed
I love my dogs- a 40 pound male whippet and a 12 pound Iggy, with skinny little noggins, tiny little brains, HUGE hearts, and thick, awkward necks. I don't like conventional check (choker) collars for my dogs because they are heavy and seem a little "corporal", but I do like/need something that provides that audible, ratcheting "click" sound when I need them to behave. Any of you who have experience with either breed (or their larger Greyhound cousin) know how difficult it is to find something that doesn't slip over the sighthound head, doesn't irritate their fine-fur-covered necks and actually holds up to use. There are lots of cutesy little martingale-style options out there and they are fine for fancy parties and the occasional public walk, but my dogs are DOGS- not exactly delicate and graceful. They have their "show collars" but I needed something else... something more for everyday use. So-----I ordered two Rogz half nylon/half check-chain collars along with matching leads in pink and green (okay- a little cissified and over-the-top preppy, I know), and I could not be happier. They are very well made, light, attractive, and very functional. The reflective stitching actually works well and is a nice addition to the little blinky light (that annoys everyone, including the dogs) on nighttime walks and a great security blanket when we get caught out walking right at dusk with no blinky light handy. Keep in mind, my dogs don't live in these collars- they are just for walks and romps at the dog park, but they, and the matching leads, are EXACTLY what I needed. Great product. Quick delivery. Excellent price.

Great collar!
I have a lab mix (either with chow or shar pei). She is 61 lbs. She has a regular collar with tags on it, but if you try to hook a leash to it, no matter how tight it is, with her head shape, it slips right off. We tried harnesses, but she acts like a hobbled horse, walking at a sedate pace, but refusing to move any faster. We adopted her last year at the age of two, and she was a terrible leash walker, so after a week, I had gotten her a Gentle Leader. With that, a collar was not an issue. Lately though, she has been really good on a leash, so I ordered this one in size large. It mimics the martingale collar my Italian greyhound wears, and it made sense that it would function the same and not slip off. It came in and fits her like a dream. It does not slip off when she stops to sniff at stuff. Very well constructed and has reflective strips for an added safety measure. She has thicker fur around her neck, so the reflective safety measures are likely not doing much good hidden in the fur, but for a smooth coated dog, it would be great!

We like this little guy
This collar is exactly what I expected and my escape artist hasn't wriggled out of this even one time. It's durable and nice looking. Perfect for someone who needs a training collar but wants their pet to be comfortable and not have a chain digging in their neck. She wears this all the time and has never once seem bothered by it. Definitely worth the money and wasn't even more expensive than any other collar you would get at your local store.UPDATE: This collar has been a Godsend for my husky who escapes from everything. My other dog finally CHEWED her out of this one so they could escape together. (I DIDN'T see that one coming!) At any rate this is such a beautiful and amazing collar that we have ordered another. First one was purple and this one turquoise. The color is so bright and beautiful. I love that my dog can wear this collar all the time but still have the use of the slip chain. I'm thinking this thing is the best thing since sliced bread. Well...Hershey' bars and then this collar. :) Thanks for this thing!

PERFECT comfy collar for BIGGER dog!
First of all, this is the best style of collar for all dogs. Some call it a martingale or training collar. It allows soft, gentle but maximum control of your dog without “choking”. Most collars for medium/large dogs are 1 inch wide. Especially for short haired dogs, I think that is too wide and stiff. 3/4” wide for an energetic boxer (is there any other kind of Boxer) is perfect. And the reflective stitching makes it double perfect!

would buy it again
I bought this collar because I have two 55lb dogs who are quite strong. One has aggression towards strangers and occasionally trys to lunge at someone approaching us (pound pup still learning some manners), and the other has just ALWAYS handled horribly on the leash paying more attention to her curious nose than to direction. I dont agree with the choker just because as effective as they are, there is simply no denying that it cant be good for dogs. Then, we tried harnesses and all that did was challenge my dogs to pull harder. So when I saw this compromising design I figured if it works than great, otherwise, they are not that expensive so the loss will be bearable. I have had these collars for a month now and I am pleased to report that they are working well. My dogs still pull but once they are feeling the strain of the tightening for a while, eventually they back down and we win!!! Even the sound of the chain chinking can be enough for one of my kids at times (the other one doesnt throw in the towel so easily). So all in all, I am pleased with this product. If they begin to fall apart in the future, I would certainly update my review to give an estimated life expectancy of the collar. Hope this helps.
