I was on vacation in a different state and suddenly realized that my roots were already gray only three weeks after coloring my hair. Horror! I've been buying Clairol Nice & Easy A4 forever, and although it was a bit too brassy red for me, it was the closest I could come to the subtle cinnamon brown color I was looking for so I stayed with it for 10 years...until vacation. I decided I had to color my hair that night at the beach house we were renting before visiting family the next day. After two stopping at two different stores and unable to find a color even close, it was getting late and hubby was getting impatient. The choices for dark red were non-existent. Everything was either bright red, orange, or an unnatural RED. I spotted Schwarzkopf Keratin Color in Berry Brown 5.3 but was afraid of the name. I was worried "berry" would have a dark pink or purple tint but the color on the box was a rich medium/dark brown and I decided brown was better than gray roots so I grabbed it. I absolutely love GOT2B products, also made by Schwarzkopf, and it was just $3 more than Nice and Easy so I trusted the name and bought it. I'm so glad I did! The smell is incredible. It also comes with gloves, conditioner, and a serum to put on your ends before coloring so you don't get those dark, inky ends and it worked beautifully. The color is gorgeous! It's a rich brown with dark red highlights that keeps it from being boring but aren't glaring red. They glimmer in the light. It's a subtle auburn. My husband loved it and I'm now a die-hard fan. It's the color I've been looking for for a long time. I leave it for 20 minutes instead of 25 to keep it from getting too dark but it still covers those pesky gray roots. The color doesn't fade like Clairol does either and stays vibrant for months. I only have to retouch my roots each month instead of recoloring my entire hair without losing the vibrancy in the rest of my hair. My hair is very shiny and it feels thick, full, and very soft. It's not dry and coarse feeling like Nice and Easy. I'm very fair and the color doesn't wash me out. Fast, reliable shipping with subscription. I recommend this seller and this product. update: Most unfortunately and Im devastated as the color was great , but ever since this process my natural curls have disappeared… to what is now straightish frizz and bog hair . Even with the best of the best of curl products, im still in shock that only a curling iron will give my hair any definition, and it doesn’t hold for more than an hour.. After 10 years of japanese straightening, I had finally embraced and was loving my curls -and now they are gone.. and it’s not like my hair is pretty straight and pretty.. it’s everything but , apparently in order to reverse the damage , i cant treat or use any hot tools, or all the expensive “fixes” I bought because it never occured to me this color treatment was the culprit- not product buildup, not hormones.. I didn’t need to buy a brand new hair blower with a diffuser, and all of these curl enhancing products by Moroccan oil, no matter what I do until this grows out my hairdresser told me I am stuck in limbo and not the fun kind at a party.. so I won’t erase my review as if you have straight hair and don’t need to worry and this is the color for you, but curls beware!! unfortunately, I’m still going to be on the search. I don’t know what I’m going to do to cover the Gray, in the meantime of trying to revive my curls .It really is upsetting to have your hair ruined with no known timeframe of when it may return to normal. but here is the review for color if and only if you have straight hair. Exact match to not only the color shown on the box , but also to my natural hair color . Silky and shiny for the first time after coloring it in a year . I have been using the Igora product line including permanent, absolute, and vibranceas well as trying different levels of developer. I kept thinking I had picked the wrong color- always dry after ranging from too dark, to orange rather than auburn which apparently is “copper” . Even worse what was supposed to be the golden or highlights or red - always would end up ONLY on the top of my head where regrowth was , not covering the grey I was dying it for in the first place , and no matter how perfectly applied with both technique and time left on would only leave the rest if my hair dry and a drastically different color then the top of my head . My instinct was to try this over and over again, and yet the Reviews would always lead me back to another try . This is absolutely the only color I will be using from now on . Forget about the hundreds of dollars I spent on all of the separate products within the same line not to mention a large price difference for each individual product versus this fantastic all in one. The directions here are clear, concise with no questions left un answered. Down to rinsing it with water and using their conditioner rather than washing it after dying. I can’t believe how soft,shiny and lovely This color is . Not to mention it’s name is actually appropriate to the color as well as the picture. Its not too dark , doesn’t call it blonde when it’s brown and doesn’t call it brown when it’s black . It is miraculously back to my original medium brown color and somehow even has my natural highlights I always loved that glisten in the sun. Basically it feels like I never dyed my hair, which is exactly what I wanted , it covered the gray impeccably. There’s not one grey hair in sight for the first time in so long even after dying it fresh over and over again. Its by the same brand as all the other products I had to get because of it being marketed as “the best” , but blows them away in every aspect important to anyone coloring only because of grey and with the frequency necessary to be done at home vs the salon . Dont hesitate brunette beauties- get this!

This is the best box dye that I’ve ever used. Not only is the color picture accurate, but the dye and conditioner left my hair softer and silkier after using it. I used the colors 4.6 and 4.0 to get this beautiful deep chocolate color to my hair. My hair was at a level 9 blonde in the middle to ends and an 8 more near the roots with my roots grown out. I did not use any red filler before applying the brown dye because my hair already had a ginger tone left in it and the 4.6 was red based. I mixed the two dyes evenly in a bowl and applied it to my whole head and roots (except for my blonde skunk stripe). It turned out beautifully. I highly recommend this dye!!! If you’re looking for a cheap way to change your hair at home, this is the way to go. It did not damage my hair (my hair has been lightened and damaged). I loved the color outcome and it was easy to apply. I got so many compliments on my hair and people thought I got it professionally done. 100% recommend if you can’t go get your hair colored professionally

Wonderful product for dying your hair! Lasted about two months and it was easy to use and quick. Made my hair nice and shiny, smooth and soft. The color also was perfect match for my natural hair. It’s not cheap but worth every penny

This particular color isn't as red as I was worried about. It's very natural looking and covered the gray very well. I used to use the cinnamon brown and that was much redder.

Pretty color and it covers grays great. I find it easy to dye my hair with this and less breakage. The smell isn’t bad either. I already bought this twice. I think it will be my new go-to.

This is only getting stats because the precolor serum smells fantastic and it really left my hair feeling silky after I washed. The gray coverage is not great, I left the dye on a little more than the recommended 30 minutes and I made sure I had everything well coated and still have a ton of grays visible, mind you I dont have a lot of hair and my hair is thin/fine so there should have been more coverage.
