Authentic South African spiced Drywors. Great quality and flavor. Really appreciate the fact that it is in proper sheep casings and not artificial casings. Been missing this since I moved to the US. So glad to have a reliable local source now.

This is legit the best droëwors Ive found in the states so far. Its got some moisture to it, fairly seasoned and worth the price. Ive bought it 5 time over the last few years and ive never been disappointed. Definitely brings a taste of home to your doorstep. Worth the buy

I have been searching for real South African Droewors for a long time. This is it, fresh and delicious. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is the price. It is overpriced in my opinion and they will soon go out of business if they don't make a correction.

If you’re a South African you know what droëwors should taste like and there’s no getting around it, and for anyone living in the US you also know how hard it is to come by decent tasting droëwors in this country. Well this.. this my people, is good. It’s real good. I haven’t been able to stop eating it so I’m afraid by the time the day ends the bag will be gone. It’s the perfect moistness, perfect crisp, perfect fatty ratio, perfect taste, no MSG which means no migraines for me which is huge because a lot of other biltong or droëwors products sold in the US trigger me. The only thing I’d say could improve on this product is the thickness. These are skinny little guys and we also all know droëwors isn’t skinny but it really doesn’t matter, it just means you eat more. I had this in my cart for a long long time contemplating if it would be worth the money or if it’d be another failed attempt at tasting home with money wasted but it’s not a waste at all. Even my husband, who is American, has said we will only ever buy this from now on because it’s closest to what he knows it to taste like. Incredible source of protein for anyone into health and eating right. If you’re worried about this not being good don’t be, it’s good! And you’ll want more so buy two bags and don’t make the same mistake I did by only buying one. Thank you to the shop owners for making a good product. My South African heart is happy as a pig in — you know the rest.. I’m just a happy little chappie and will 100% be a repeat customer. 10/10 would recommend.

I love the taste and the protein content of droewors, after a 1998 trip to Zimbabwe which left me hungry for more. I was happy when it was finally more widely available in the US. For a year or so, I'd been buying another brand of droewors with plastic shrink-wrapped around each one-ounce stick, and with some variation in quality from batch to batch, as some were far too dried out for my taste. So I decided to go with Biltong Depot to cut down on unnecessary plastic waste and hopefully find another brand to which I can be loyal. I love this one so far. The quality is very good. The consistency is appetizing for me--moist and chewy. And these droewors are easy to freeze if the "use within 3 days" note scares ya (like it did me). I froze them packed into jars and they didn't stick to each other thanks to the natural sheep casing.

Over the past several years, I have tried most droewors options on Amazon. I am surprised I only came across these very recently. This product is a clear winner in my opinion. It's fresh (a little wet when opened) and has good taste. It's very close to what you would expect back in South Africa. After opening the bag for a few days (not refrigerated), it does become slightly drier which is great. I feel like the price is reasonable because some of the options for $30 are simply inedible. Others leave this horrible taste in your mouth. Also these are clearly not rebranded like several other products out there where they come from the same place but have different product names. These are legit with their own unique taste and far superior freshness. Don't hesitate. Get these for sure!

I expected to taste "home," and boy was I disappointed. No good flavor, not a hint of coriander, garlic, or anything else except salt, so very, very, salty. As for the expected tasty fat, it was missing in action. My oupa could teach then a thing or two. I make better biltong at home with my dehydrator. The droe wors wasn't droog and was bland as heck. Wish I had a time machine back to Alberton Meat Marketin the 80's, they made addictively terrific wors. I feel so cheated.

Oh yes! This is the droe wors that I have been looking for. Carnivore has nailed the flavor. It is just right. This is the flavor of the droe wors that I grew up with in South Africa! The exact right combination of cloves and coriander, of meat and fat, and the right level of “wetness”. This is “Goldilocks” droe wors, not too little (Papa bear), not too much (mama bear), but just right baby bear! Just like their biltong, these guys do it perfectly. Thank you Carnivore for bringing out a non-MSG version of your droe wors, I really like it and I’ve already started recommending it to my South African friends in America :-)
