Fotodiox Lens Hood Replacement for HB-33 Compatible with AF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED and AF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II Lens

I am a beginner when it comes to DSLRs, so take what I say with a grain of salt. This lens hood did what it was supposed to. It snapped onto the front of the camera with ease and it was easy to remove. The construction was great considering the price difference with the Nikon branded hood. It's also nice that it very closely matches the finish on my D3100. However, when I tried to use a polarizing filter I was unable to easily manipulate the circular filter without sticking my fingers dangerously close to the lens. I had to remove the hood when I was using the filter. So just be aware if you like to use filters that this hood may make it a little tricky. However, for the price and ease of installation I have to recommend this product. It does exactly what it is supposed to do.

I bought this for my Nikon D3300 and was obviously on a tight budget. Lens hood does the job but it's cheap feeling and if not handled well it could easily break.

I bought this lens hood because I was not going to pay throuth the nose for a ring of plastic labled Nikon, and this does the job well. The only complaint I had durring the first few uses was it required a bit of a push to seat on the lens. After maybe 15-20 on/offs it now slides on easily and locks tight. It has always sat well on my 18-55mm lens and has been invaluable to me in my shooting.

I purchased this lens hood and I am very please with the construction and sturdiness of the product. I highly recommend this item, the only con if you want to call it that, is that I wasn't experienced enough to realize that the shadow of the hood would be visible on pictures taken indoors in bad lighting if you are shooting closely to your subject...something to think about...but now I know so I will use it appropriately.

Was advertised as working for the d3300 kit lense, but it didn't. For specifity, the lens is the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR II.

Most of these hoods are tulip shaped, like seriously everyone I see with a DSLR has a tulip hood, so the idea of a round hood worried me. I read up on it and decided to go for it. Let me tell you, this is perfect for my Nikon D5100. The hood clips on with ease and provides really great light coverage. This helps so much when shooting outdoors! The thing I really liked is if you are shooting indoors you can remove the hood very quickly. It detaches with the press of a button and snaps back on without any problem. I noticed a shadow in my photos when using this in low light, such as indoors, but then I realized how easy it is to remove and reattach. I love this thing, it stays on my camera everywhere I go until I am not in need of it. Quality product, easy to use, highly recommended for the Nikon D5100!

It's a lens hood! Does the job. The pinch clip-on is handy. Does not interfere with my filter. Made of plastic and seems fragile. Much cheaper than the Nikon hood. Reversible for storage in the bag.

Although the product arrived quickly, it was actually useless. I was unable to get the lens hood to fit on the lens it was made for. Not worth the trouble of returning.
