Update August 5 2019. Communicating with addresses of distinction. (AOD) They offered to send another new pole as they agreed with me they sent a pole for the regular size box. We didn’t want to have to remove the pole and place a new one. We are elderly and would have to pay someone for the labor. Husband asked for a piece of the pipe to extend the pole higher and make a sleeve to fit on top. They sent the piece of pipe and my son in law made the sleeve at his work shop. Worked perfectly. Now the ball is up off the back of the mailbox like it’s suppose to be. Hopefully AOD will see this updated review and picture of sleeveMailbox appears sturdy and quality materialTwo problems. The bottom hole on the pike was not drilled out completely so had to use drill to fix. No big deal. But wow. After installation and adding the ball on top realized the two holes for the bracket were too high. Now the ball is pushed against the back of the box. Not very appealing for a box that cost so much. If you purchase one of these I would definitely check the predrilled holes. But you really shouldn’t have to for the cost of this box. Picture above compared with picture on amazon. Disappointed in the appearance. The pole was already set and bracket on pole so too late to return. We are also elderly and husband is disabled veteran and we have to pay a handyman for any work. Now I’m assuming they sent a pole for a regular mailbox not the large

Pros:- Very elegant, if not pretentious, mailbox.- Large size: fits small packages with ease.- The brass numbers on black really pop.Cons:- Like another reviewer mentioned, I had the same issue with the bolts that run through the post to connect the mounting bracket. They were a 1/2" too short to thread into the bracket. I picked up two longer bolts from the hardware store, and painted the exposed surfaces black after installation. It wasn't a major issue, but it was a hassle and it detracted from an otherwise excellent product..

Nice sturdy mailbox. The actual box is pretty thin metal and its over sized shape should allow for larger padded envolopes or small/medium boxes. You can get a pair of shoes in there easily. The pole and the decorative pieces that go over are thick aluminum. You'll need someone to set the post with quicrete and the post pretty long so it can go do a few feet at least.

Beautiful mailbox, sturdy and really adds to our curb appeal. We purchased the installation with it and had a great guy come out to install it for us. The box is big inside and holds a lot of mail. Received the free house numbers a few days later and put those on - perfect fit.

Sorry I purchased this mailbox. It's very attractive but for $289, it should not fall apart in the first six months. First week, the red flag fell off. The flag is held in place by a plastic button which goes through and protrudes inside the box. Postman probably hit that button shoving in gobs of junk post. Now the entire scroll bracket securing (yeah right) the box has completely shattered. It will be a high maintenance box which was not what I was looking for. But, if you don't mind the cost and frustration of constant maintenance, it's very pretty.

Did not receive a set of 5 numbers which was suppose to be free with mailbox. I paid for the numbers.Was not pleased with this as it is stated that a st of numbers no more than 5 will be free.

Very disappointed with a defect in manufacturing. Holes on plate were drilled improperly and did not line up with where screws were in base. Had to drill my own holes to install mailbox.Word to the wise: don’t take down your old mailbox before you make sure the plate was manufactured properly or you will get stuck like me.

This mailbox turned out really nice! However, my husband put it together and said the instructions weren't good for someone who has no idea what they are doing. It was also missing some screws needed for completion. We picked them up at the local big box retailer. I am only giving 4 stars because of ease of putting together. Its a beatiful mailbox and have so many compliments on it already.
