Hoya make a great product at a reasonable price. Yes you can spend more for a better producer of a protective filter. Unless you are a professional, this is definitely good enough.

Good UV filter
I received the Hoya filter the day after ordering. When I opened the shipping envelope, the case was cracked. I was worried that the filter may have been damaged. When I opened it up, the lens was dust free and in excellent shape. I have only been able to take a few photos, but they look good. If the product would have been packed a bit more robustly, I would rate 5 stars.
