Good stuff
OK... first let me say I've switched to a RAW diet simply because I think it's the BEST possible way to feed my dog. Tibetan Mastiffs thrive on a RAW diet but this is an excellent product if you want to stick with commercial products. I fed this mixed with Organix dry puppy food until he was 6 months old. Never had any issues with loose stools and other unmentionables! lol.. He did very well on it. No this stuff isn't cheap especially when you have dog that's 4 months old and 50 lbs. He's now 78 lbs at 6 1/2 months so do the math.. $$$$$$$! lol Anyway I can recommend this based on my experience but every dog is going to be different. Just keep a close eye and see how they do. Give it a few weeks unless you immediately get a negative reaction imo. I do keep a case of this around for emergencies or traveling! Rather difficult to feed a RAW diet on the road.. yea yea.. it can be done but not by me!

High quality dog food
I am a former COO of a large pet food contract producer. I am familiar with FDA and food manufacturing processes. There are only 2 USA made dog food companies I would rely on for safe and healthy food. Castor/Pollux is one of those.

Fantastic Option for Chronic Pancreatitis Sufferer
This has been a life-saver for my aging heeler. He's had chronic pancreatitis for years, and I finally had to resort to cooking food for him daily (this gets old, with 3 large canine mouths to feed). We found the Castor & Pollux Organix Adult Canine Formula, Chicken, Brown Rice & Flax Dry Dog Food, 25-Pound Bag , which was a great solution (wet down a little to provide enough fluid for digestion). However, he also has worn down canines as a result of spending his first year living on the streets of Cody, Wyoming, and his teeth aren't completely adequate to a kibble-only diet. Adding this canned food has been the best thing ever!! We have struggled to meet his needs for years, and this just works! He's comfortable, now. No more tummy rubs and aspirin every night after supper (although he did do exceptionally well on the home-prepared diet, also, for about the same cost). I love seeing my boy happy and thriving, and I honestly have this food to thank.

The Quality and Shipment has gone from Good to Fair over the Past Two Years
I have consistently ordered this dog food from this supplier on Amazon for over two years now and I regret to say that the quality of the food and the cans in which they are contained have steadily deteriorated over that period of time. Some of the cans arrive severely dented or with half-full contents. Furthermore, the color of the food has changed from light brown to a dark, earth brownish color and its texture is noticeably harder/ chunkier and less wet. Significantly, you can reliably tell the quality of the food given to a dog from its effects on the dog's stool, and my dog's stool is now noticeably harder, and is deposited in scattered small bits everywhere, as opposed to being softer and piled up in a small heap previously. In short, the manufacturer has probably changed some of the ingredients over the past two years and the supplier perhaps houses the food for too long or in poorly ventilated warehouses before shipment. Three-and-a-half stars would be the appropriate rating of this food, based on my current experience with it.

14 year old and 2 year old dog favorite food
Been feeding this to my dogs for about two years now and it’s the only food they will eat from start to finish. The fact that it is organic was a selling point to me since we try to eat organic and feel why shouldn’t our pups get the same. We have two dogs, one is a 14 year old German shepherd chow mix and the other is a 2 year old Boston terrier King Charles spaniel mix. Both love this food and have no issues with any of the flavors.

Saving Joe
I have been feeding my 14 yr old mini pin Castor and Pollux chicken and rice for the past 3 years. He absolutely loves it! When the pandemic hit I could no longer purchase it because of the supply chain. Even though I tried to replace feeding him w healthy foods, he had issues with his digestive system. This past year we are able to get back on his regular chicken and rice diet and is feeling like a young pup again!! Never had an issue w dent cans although I think the quantity is a little less. We love this product! Happy Joe.. happy mom!!

Product itself is great but half the cans arrived dented
Generally speaking this is a great product, the pate style food is dense and my dogs like the flavor, they eat it up. This review is for this particular shipment and gets only 3 stars because it is a pricey product and several cans in the order were unusable because they were dented. At about $3 per can, that was $18 worth of product thrown away. Please note the lower rating is because of the dented cans, which should not be included in an order. Generally speaking, Organix canned foods are great - the food is dense, my dogs love it, and they have a good recall history (meaning very few to no recalls). Whenever choosing a food, I look at quality of ingredients, nutrition and recall history. I don't usually have a problem with the cans arriving dented. This was fulfilled by Amazon which I've ordered from for years. It's only been of late I've had a few order mishaps with Amazon fulfilled orders, but that never happened before the coronavirus pandemic and I think that's understandable given how busy Amazon is right now. Originally I included a link to a helpful website for how to evaluate safety of dented cans but Amazon wouldn't let me post it because it was an external link and that's against their guidelines.

Good product
I typically alternate between Wellness Core and Nature's Variety's Instinct. I have recently tried to find a brand to replace Instinct. Though a fine product, Instinct's loose/watery consistency means you are getting much less for your bucks. And it's already more pricy than Wellness. Blue Wilderness has similar quality as Wellness but is more costly. TOTW doesn't agree with my dog's stomach. Newman's Organic has an abominable smell. So far Organix seems like a good choice. Its appearance looks less "meaty" than Wellness but I like that it's USDA certified organic. The pop-top is also great while traveling. Will recommend.
