The Best Stain
I make outdoor furniture. What a difference this quality stain makes. The stain applies nicely, a noticeable difference in coverage. The stain may cost a little more, but the color, the UV protection and easy of application is outstanding.

Nice Finish
Wasn't easy to find an outdoor UV rated finish. I'm no professional, but it turned out OK. Started with a very weathered door. I sanded down to bare wood on a Fir door. patched the cracks and spots where the grain was raised. It took 3 coats to hide my "overlap". (I brushed it on). I then put 2 coats varnish. I was hoping wood grain would show through, but this wasn't the case. I also think it turned out a little more chocolate than cedar, but I'm pleased with the results.

This stain is dark
I need a water based stain under epoxy. I had been using Minwax mahogany gel which they seem to have stopped making. The color was a very pleasing red mahogany. I purchased this stain as a replacement and found it to be too dark. Even thinning did not give me a match and it appeared closer to a walnut. I purchased the Minwax replacement, a quick dry solvent based liquid, which I had hoped would work under epoxy. It was even much darker than this product. Apparently the industry has decided that a dark mahogany is all there is going to be. I may need mix my own to match my project.

An awesome product to work with!
I refinished a door for the very first time. Stripped 3 layers of paint and sanded repeatedly. This stain was awesome to work with and made my project look very fine. Easy to apply and great online instruction. I also used a topcoat from General Finishes and am quite pleased with both products.
