In Fabric

THIS IS NOT A HORROR FILM
This is another film being advertised as something it's not, resulting in irritated viewers who feel swindled. In reality, In Fabric is a deeply surreal, absurdist dark comedy shot in the style of a giallo film. It's self-indulgent, meandering, and intentionally edited to disorient you. I liked it quite a lot. But if you're not keen on "them weird artsy movies," you better give this a pass, or you'll be back here in two hours to tell us all how this is the worst film you've ever seen.

Moth-Eaten Fabric On This Not So Good Dress
Watched this on Amazon Streaming Video. Not worth $6.99. I'm glad there are people out there who can make off the wall flicks like this; some of it was good and some was not. Needed better script. Cool witches operating cursed clothing store. I'm tired of getting fooled into paying for movies like this. Same thing happened with the Suspiria remake, which sucked pretty bad in spite of a few weird touches. I won't be falling for reviews touting how scary/terrifying/weird these new movies are any more. I'll wait to rent a cheap DVD.

i have not seen the movie and i get mad when people review how their product came in the mail and not the film but this and all blu rays of this movie do not work at all. currently returning this movie for the second time and am buying the alternate european(i think?) version of this film.

Love it. Haunting film.
It’s always the red dress. The color of fire, passion as well as blood and madness. Really awesome film. Well done. Haunting and dark while having its comedic moments. Glad I own it now. Have watched it 3 times.

Noé fans take notice...
Very stylized and wacky borderline horror movie. Hard to describe... imagine if Gaspar Noé made Rubber only it was about a red dress instead of a demonic telekinetic car tire. If this hybrid reference makes sense and appeals to you then watch it for sure. If not then watch at your own risk. Maybe a little style over substance but I still enjoyed it. The cryptic spoken dialogue from the store clerk is often outstanding and there is dark humor throughout.

Artsy but underwhelmingly bad film
Watched this because the critics gave it a 93, really found it terrible, took several hours to watch as I was so bored. About a red dress that is possessed. Ugh. And some weird Victorian characters who are never explained but are grotesque, and morbid. 2 wasted hours. Later discovered the audience rating was a 50, so next time, I will go with what other viewers recommend. Like someone's art school film project.

Like a bad undergrad film school project
I was unprepared for just how awful this film really was. I was actually up for a little bit of cheesy pseudo-horror fantasy, if it were well-done with a nod and a wink, but this film was like some film-school project from the early 80's, written by a team of undergrads high on cheeba. If i were to describe all the ways in which this movie stank like a rat's ass I would be investing more thought and care than the people that made it. One of the few movies I have streamed on Amazon that is not worth the $4.99 it cost me.

Brilliant, bonkers and bizarre with a stunning score.
Forget looking for a plot. Well, I take that back. Forget looking for a cogent plot. The film is surreal and downright silly by turns. Visually, it ranges from a 60s kitchen sink drama mise en scène, to a Masque of the Red Death fever dream. It is bonkers, and brilliant with moments of utter bafflement. Don't try and make sense of it, just bask in a truly fabulous score by Cavern of Anti-Matter, and let the visuals run past your eyes.

Creative piece and an intriguing plot. Imaginatively directed.
It's surreal and darkly amusing. Creatively filmed and interesting. However, I felt the weird sexual and vaguely 'fettish' elements unnecessary to the plot and did not add any entertainment value. Instead made me feel I was watching some weird art piece at a gallery where the artist was unsuccessfully doing his/her best to disturb the viewer. It's an intriguing concept and whilst I am còntent to have watched it, I don't think it's one I'll be rushing to watch again.

Looking good
Just terrific. Another stunner from Strickland. Possibly tops the previous films. State of the art.

Maybe for someone a bit younger than mid 70’s
Bought for myself but found it rather disappointing. Maybe I’m too old for it.
