GREAT GUN FOR A GOOD PRICE!
Ive bin painting cars for 2 years now. I was super excited when i saw amazon caring this paint gun, I bought it cheap on here and it came quickly and for the price aslong as you keep it clean these guns will last a couple of years. I use it to apply color, Works great as far as clear goes its a good gun but i would use a SATA instead.

Excellent spray gun
Quality and fit and finish are very good (particularly like the black chrome and blue anodized aluminum parts), and the needle and fan controls feel tight and positive. It comes with a stainless steel cup, unlike many of the cheaper guns which have a plastic cup, and since the material that I'm spraying cleans up with acetone, the metal cup is a must have. Optimal atomization was at about 20 PSI and any flaws in the finish are due to my lack of proper technique rather than any deficiency in the gun. I do recommend fitting a mini-regulator and an in-line filter. It's (quite) a bit more expensive that many of the mini-HVLP guns on Amazon but you get what you pay for, and my opinion this is a excellent piece of kit.

worth more than payed for
i am a professional automotive painter for 7 years now and i bought this gun for cheap throw away (after a year or so) spot primer gun because we use sherwin paints and thats what they recomend for primer is a 1.0 tip. when i first put the gun in my hands i could tell it was not a cheap pos and could not wait to use it at work the next day. the next day at work i used it for some simple solid color small spot jobs and sprayed very nice very even pattern so i tride some high metallic paint and sprayed just fine no stripes in the finish. i have 2 sata 4000 1 sata 3000 and 3 iwatas so i now what a good gun sprays like, this gun is well worth the money and to nice for primer but works great for primer to. the pattern is about 5" max so works well for jambs and small spot jobs. oh and dont buy the startingline by devilbiss mini its junk for base coat gun (it was my last primer gun) and it cost about the same so thats what i was expecting with this gun but was pleasantly surprised

Perfect for helmets, tumblers, and motorcycle tins
Nice little detail gun. Been spraying water based paints and clear on small projects like helmets, tumblers, and motorcycle tins. Bridges the gap between an airbrush and a full size gun. My main complaint is the design of the cup and how it collects paint in the groove of the through bolt/nut setup. Solid cup with external threads only would make cleaning so much easier. Otherwise, this little gun sprays really nicely and is the perfect size for my needs.

Looks fancy, cheaply made, leaks down the barrel
My first impression was that it looks very nice. The gunmetal chrome anodized finish was impressive. Once I got some air running through it I realized that it had a faulty valve and was basically not professionally useable. I checked the air cap as well. The air cap has a nice size for a mini and allows for a larger spray pattern, I might add. Another thing that I disliked about the gun was that the air distribution ring behind the fluid tip is plastic and unattached so it will fall right out. Surprisingly, it was intentionally made that way. It is frustrating to purchase things and have them broken or non-functional right out of the box. I returned it the next day.

fx1000 is great for motorcycles!
I bought this gun because I paint motorcycles parts only (fenders, gas tanks, fairings). I was hesitant because many people told me that a minigun was only good for repairs, but that is not true. I bought this gun with the 1.0 tip and it performed perfectly! Painting motorcycle parts is what this gun does perfectly. Im not sure what its capable of on bigger parts, but if you paint small parts like I do, then Its great for that. It lays the base and clear down perfectly with a glass smooth finish. Also, this gun has allowed me to save a bunch of money in product because of the small cup size and precision this gun allows. 1.0 is the correct tip size for automotive paint. The mini guns have totally different inner parts than normal size hvlp guns. The 1.4 regular hvlp is the same as the 1.0 mini hvlp as far as tip sizes go. If you are wanting a great gun that will save money in paint, allow better manueverability, control, and better finishes, then id strongly reccommend this gun.

Graco/Sharpe FX 1000
Great product. Used it on some plastic work on a Honda CT 110 I am restoring. It worked perfectly on the smaller parts that I am doing. The paint I used was a PPG product with the hardener. I was able to hold enough paint in the gun even with the smaller cup to do all of the parts at one time. (for each coat) Saved having to mix up a lot of paint at one time and waste a lot of it as I would have had to do with my larger guns. I highly recommend this gun.

Not bad for the money
I use this gun for painting guitars. It works very well. No problems yet, but I'm sure the plastic near the spray nozzle will need to be replaced periodically. It isn't quite a mini gun but definitely not a full size either. This is very important when determining tip size. 1.0 seems to work well for automotive but would recommend 1.2 for thinned lacquer compared to 1.0 mini gun thinned lacquer and 1.4 full size gun. Sharpe was literally 0 help and actually mocked me when I emailed them for the third time asking for help regarding this about 20 hours of experimenting later I got it figured out. The best part about this gun is that it accepts a standard size cup. I use the small one for guitars but its nice to be able to use a larger for painting a car or something. Harbor freight sells 5 disposables for $7 that work flawlessly.
